update*

today i recieved my laser rated 300mw.

first thing i noticed is the fat beam and some bad side splash.

4he5o0.jpg

camera doesnt pick it up that good, you can see some on the lower left of the dot the, rest you see is my lame camera:p in person its about 3x worse.

beam also exits at a slight angle

i did hook it up to my lpm and it did a nice 320-360mw over about 20sec.

i will take a look at the lens and such to see if i can improve the beam and dot, after that i will try to make a decent review.

hope you get your soon to Mike, wonder how yours preform.

all in all ordering from DD wasnt that bad for me, i have had way worse..

sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but dinodirect just bought their A- from the BBB.
YouTube - Better Business Bureau Probe

...just one more example of how the world is crumbling into shit before our eyes. :wtf:

in the netherlands we have company's that sell "quality marks". company's can buy such a mark and then show it everywhere on their product pages.
And the company that sells the quality mark just says they test the client's product by severe things or whatever. but basicy its just a scam to us customers.

another thing that could be, is that the BBBP clearly made itself clear when trying to order something. then dino thought hey lets do something good today. shipped desame day, emailed if everything was fine when it arrived, and any questions about it dont hesitate to ask.

Dino Direct shipped my second laser --- It arrived in about 8 DAYS
That shows that they can measure up. Communications on email remains challenging with the language barrier and all

My 1000mW blue one burned out with normal use. But they shipped another one for free, by express EMS!

I'm going to try to build my first custom laser out of the host with a XJA140 diode. Anyone know if I can use the module with that diode? Or have any idea where I can get a module for the xja140? And I think that laser its self acts as a heatsink? Correct me if I'm wrong but the module just slides into on the host and it all screws together.

hmm i cant seem to get the lens 100% cleaned and it also seems that the laser output doesnt go 100% straight trough the lens, seems to be off-centre by a little bit...

also, using a other lens ( jayrobs g-1 lens was closest to my hand, wrong coating i know:p) gave me a verry nice thin beam but was hard to get it focused to infinity
gues i need to screw a lens out of a 12mm green module and see how that preforms.

I'm machining a lens holder for mine to get better output or beam quality.
I want to use a larger diameter lens -- say 9 to 10 mm.

no,i am not.

yes you are
that's about as obvious as stink on poo dude. nobody wants a cell phone screen, we want lasers, we do not and will not ever care about your cell phone screens. i am surprised by that website! it looks so amazingly wonderful and awesomely cool!

It has nothing to do with lasers! thats exactly why were all on this site! becasue we were looking for cell phone screens! not lasers! i don't know why it's called laserpointerforums when all we want is cell phone screens! why can't it just be called cellphonescreens.com and get this over with!

gosh man you are the best!!!

Just a heads up to anyone thinking of buying from DinoDirect, I have ordered a flashlight and i got it but it took over 2 months to arrive (I live in Texas). I ordered a set of bucky ball type magnets for $18.99 on December 1, and after not getting a tracking number for 4 weeks I emailed them and they told me to be patient. 2 weeks later I shot them another email, and long story short, I've got a dispute open with paypal to get a refund. In my experience, their customer service is kind of shoddy. So if you're ok with waiting months to get your order then go ahead, if you'd like your package relativey quickly, shop elsewhere.

I don't mean to bash on a company like I am here, but of my 2 experiences with the company, one was halfway decent and the other so far has been much less than one should expect from an organized/professional company.

I ordered two packages of various lasers, 1 turned up 1 didnt, after many posts in thier forum, i opened a PP case while i still could, I of course won the case and was credited back to my account (£25) , 3 days later the package arrived, i'm waiting to see what they do.

Hi I just went through the whole registrat. process at this site to reply to this message. I just purchased (yesterday) a 7"android ereader laptop tablet for $99- If you want to know how people really feel about the product you can't look at "customer reviews". Go into the dino website, click the "help" button in top right then look up "customer forums". Many people didn't even receive a product. Those that did, received faulty items that don't work and many of these tablets came with broken screens and wouldn't boot. Be sure to go in many pages to weed out the "REAL" customers, because the second you post, about 10 other topics (with answers) appear ABOVE the one you just posted!

I TRIED TO CANCEL THE ORDER WITHIN HOURS. No good. So I called my debit card co. and filed a dispute. I'll update this post if I get my $ back.

so BUYER BEWARE, And the old addage, "if something seems to good to be true...it probably is!"
