Deal Extreme?

Hi, I'm new to the LPF. I tried to see if there was a search function to make sure this was not a repost, but I could not find one.

I'm here to ask you if anyone has purchased lasers from Deal Extreme. I'm in the process of ordering their true 50mw green laser and wanted to know what LPF thought of the company.

I'm buying this one: dealextreme.com / details.dx / sku.1371

It has an IR filter (usually not even thought of being a selling point.) and will decently do what I want it to (Stargazing and light burning.)

I cannot find a better deal than this thing. They have others (200mw for $120 and a 30mw for $21) but I know they are not going to be the best quality. I want to know if they are worth buying if you really don't have enough money to buy a several hundred dollar laser even if they are not as good a quality.

Thanks,
Bhig

Yes they are decent lasers for the cost, be prepared to wait awhile for the shipping though, there not very fast.

Also i would suggest to cancel that order and get the true 30 instead, it is much cheaper and outputs just a little bit less than the true 50, visually you will notice no difference at all.

There is a search function, see those buttons at the top? There is one that says search, just click on that.

...lazer... ;D ;D ;D

I think you should stay with the True 50, my friend has one that lights matches.

Do you have to put a lens in the front? My DX30 lights matches with a lens, and it is IR filtered.

I don't need a lens on brand new batteries. And I am not guarantee a DX 30 to light matches i have order 7 of them 2 had problem (mode hoping/dimming) but all other popped balloons and 2 light matches one with a lense the other without though i have not filtered them.

Thanks for the Search button pointer...totally missed that.

Thanks for all the replies as well! I really appreciate it. I'm going to go ahead and order the 50mw just in case I get a bad 30mw. Some of the reviews on the 30 said they had to order 2 or more to get a good one, so I'd rather just pay $54 for one I know will be good.

Also, thanks for letting me know it is a decent laser for the price. I'm pretty new to lasers in general and may be purchasing better ones in the future, but I'm just looking for a cheap starter laser right now.
