I've never had problems ordering from places like stonetek, or rckstr, But everytime i try to buy or trade with someone on the forum it becomes a big problem and i never get what i ordered or traded for.

i always ship right away priority with tracking, and then people end up trying to send me items without tracking and in regular envelopes packed with crap, which doesn't work because it gets ripped apart in the sorting process with USPS....so i either 1. Don't recieve it at all, 2. recieve an empty envelope that got ripped open and the contents dropped out. or 3. recieve an envelope ripped to shreds about a month after they mail it.

i'm not going to name any names because i don't want to start a big argument, but this is starting to bug me...and cost me.
i guess i'm going to have to stick with known dealers, and not trade or buy from individual forum members.

now now, a total halt is a tad drastic, don't you think? i think instead of completely stopping relations with forum members maybe just try to stick with the members who have a good rep when it comes to trades, selling, buying, etc.

you'll get what your looking for

thats what i tried with my last transaction..... he has over 1000 posts and many + feedback.

i traded 3 rohm for one 16x diode, the 16x diode
i mailed priority with track & confirm and he got it in 2 days.
about a week or two later i got an regular white empty envelopo with a small little tear in the side and no contents.
so he was going to mail back one of the 3 rohm diode i sent so that i wasn't totally screwed....just out 2 diodes...
he got his on Oct 4th.......
i still have nothing.......

That sucks.I have worked in shipping and handling, and I can tell you good packaging is simply crucial ;D

Lucky me that I had really good treatment from forum members.

I've never had any trouble stonetek. One things you have to realize is that in priority mail they may search it. This may actually explain why they end up not using priority because they know that they are more likely to search it then if you just used the normal shipping option.

A good example of this was with dx, some people wanted to get there things faster so they used EMS shipping and customs confiscated it.

Remember: slow and steady wins the race. ;)

WOW! thats just pathetic!

i sure hope that most people know padded envelopes are the bare minimum for shipping and you should never use a paper envelope for electronics! unless maybe its a resistor or something not so delicate.

Well if you want to send a small diode through the mail it could at least be wrapped in something. The person obviously doesn't know that diodes are sensitive, they could have taken more precautions.

Stoneteks diodes come in a crush proof box and are wrapped in foil. ;)
NONE of his diodes have EVER come with any damage whatsoever and every one came lightning fast even though I never got the shipping upgrade (at least the ones I got).

Seriously, have any of you even bought from stonetek besides Mohrenberg? :p

I know it is a bit like name and shame but if you do not get satisfaction you should let others know who the bad traders are....I think there is a sticky in Buy/sell/trade for this purpose.

Why should you end up out of pocket due to laziness on the senders part?

You should share the info so other people don't get ripped off.

Nobody likes to post names in a negative manner. However, if a person is doing shady business, you are doing the forum a service by bringing attention to it. This is a very expensive hobby (for most of us). We all work hard for our money, and the majority of us must set aside a little at a time and save up for a purchase.

I agree if you've been wronged and the person you have bought from won't help you out post it i have shipped a driver and a diode assy first class
and it was lost in the mail and i know for 100% it wasn't recieved on the other end that person just isn't like that thats why you should let it be known to see if these people your dealing with have a pattern of incidents in the past
