I just ordered a 200 mw green laser for $120 from BigLasers.com in January.

I arrived DEAD, no matter how I input charged batteries, it was dead.

Colin is not immediately offering to send me a new one, but I don't have 3 weeks more to wait, he should Express it to me for all the trouble - - at his cost !

Now I find this thread, wish I had not ordered from this co.

Why aren't there any US based co's who ship directly from US soil instead of all these dropship creeps ?

Sorry to hear your bad luck BlueHoleDiver. Hindsite is always 20/20. Hoping you can at least get your money back. Did you you PayPal or maybe you can stop payment on your card (I’m sure you thought of these)

Check out Sanwu’s Pocket series they might have what you need?

You might want to make a welcome thread and tell us a bit about yourself. Welcome and be safe. :)

Are you aware that this Thread is 5 years old..
That is called Necropostingand is frowned upon
by the Forum community.

It would also be nice if you introduced yourself
in the Welcome section for new members and
told us a little about your self. It would also be
helpful to the Forum members if you included
your Global location in your Member Profile.

I wish I had found this thread earlier. I purchased from BigLasers.com and after waiting 3-ish weeks received a similar-looking but much less expensive product. I have contacted them and am giving them the opportunity to fix the problem before I hit them with a chargeback.

Re: Biglasers.com is a Scam - not a complete scam.

No, I mean.. to a certain point, I agree. They do sell low quality, foreign made lasers. But, at the same time... they do send you what you order.. even though it might not be of top quality. That's all I was trying to say.

Like right now, I've been trying to get someone at BigLasers to get back with me on my replacement unit because the first one I ordered stopped working at full power like 2 days after I received it in the mail. So, I mean.. if they don't respond and I don't get my new unit within the next week, I'll just go ahead and file charges against them. Simple as that. Trust me, I'll have them in so much litigation that their childrens kids, will need freaking lawyers. And that's being nice about it. :)

But yeah, I wouldn't recommend BigLasers to anyone really.
No..they don't! I recently got scammed and bought a laser and got a cheap laser that was not, what I bought.

Oh yeah indeed!
This thread is from 2012, but the company is still scamming people.

I just received the laser yesterday that I bought from them on 4 th of August and it's definitely NOT the laser, I bought!

I bought an astronomy 450 nh violet laser 200 mW for about $95. I got a cheap toy laser that is so weak, I can barely see the beam even at a pitch dark sky!

And the label on the laser even says that it's <5 mW!!!

The packaging was unacceptable. The laser was just wrapped in some bubble plastic and a plastic bag!

I sent them a complaint with photos and detailed explanation, claiming my money back and that they pay the return shipment costs, as I am in Europe. They just said, they are sorry and I can get a 50% discount! I told them hell no! The laser is completely useless. I can't see the beam! I can sent it back of course, but they don't want to pay the shipping.

It should be a no brainer. Instead they just argue with me.

So now, I am searching for info on, how to deal with this. In my country there are laws against that kind of fraud. They would have to take everything back with no cost to the customer. How are the rules in the US?

UPDATE!

I just saw, that BigLasers actually refunded me $81. So that's good. But they kept $5 of my payment. Probably shipping cost, which is absolutely not okay. They should return every cost, I've had and just feel lucky, if I don't report them for fraud. But maybe I will just let that go. Don't know. Depends on what they expect me to do with the cheap laser, I received. If they don't pay the return shipment, I am not going to do anything but throw it in the bin. It's completely useless.

Update: While I am disappointed that the product I received was not identical to the product shown when I placed the order, we did reach an agreement that involved a partial refund. So while I would not recommend this merchant, their behaviour doesn't seem to rise to the level of fraud.

On a related note, thanks to the people here who suggested laserglow. They had exactly what I wanted and delivered it quickly and accurately.

On the off chance you didn't check, is there a piece of paper inside the battery compartment? I almost missed it in the device they sent me.

Regardless of the age of this original post, the adverse history should be logged... and their legacy continues... they are still scamming people today here in 2021 by delivering something much different and inferior than what is advertised:

• We just ordered a 200mW purple laser pointer for $89.98
• It arrived broken
• The unit was >5mW, NOT 200mW as advertised
• The beam could not be seen at all, despite as advertised
• Googling the unit's part number, it is a cheap-o laser that can be found on Amazon for $12.95

This info was reported to BigLasers.com via Chat & Email: a guy named "Phil" claimed the wrong item was shipped, should be different model, should be 200mW, should be laser-engraved w/ their logo.

So, they refunded my purchase (thank goodness), and promised to send a replacement at no charge to make amends for the screw up, especially in our case as I explained it was to be used for star-pointing on a remote mountain RV trip w/ a group of kids (who were let down).

• Replacement arrives from China
• Exact same unit arrives, but in green, not purple
• Again the unit was >5mW, NOT 200mW
• Again the beam still could not be seen at all
• Same cheap-o laser that can be found on Amazon for $12.95

Again, this was reported to BigLasers.com via Chat & Email: a guy named "Colin" claimed the wrong item was shipped again, should be different model, should be 200mW, should be laser-engraved w/ their logo, and said they would send another.

Then Colin emailed saying once received, the order will be closed, regardless of what is still to be received. So he's saying that if it is shipped wrong again, "oh, well" they are washing their hands free since they already refunded the original purchase and spent money shipping 2 more units, which so far have all been wrong. I offered to pay to get the right thing, but they rather deal w/ dummies who won't know the difference, it seems. Frustrating.

Will update when I get this alleged last replacement.

Side note: went to Rocky Point (Puerto Penasco) for family vacation - some outdoor bar had a vendor that had lasers for sale, and they were only $20.00, came w/ 2 batteries, 5 light-shape-changing heads, case, holster, and shines an obvious beam that is super bright & easy to see that appears to go for miles up in the sky!
