Well finally after several e-mails, and probably pressure some of you may have applied (Thanks!) BFG offered a refund for return, or a $50 credit.

By trade I consult with companies that have quality problems to get them turned around. BFG would ordinarily never be able to afford my services, but since I am an enthusiast I suggest that if he is interested I could propose something, at almost no cost. But BFG had to take the initiative and ask for my help before I would send the proposal. [One of the first steps of my program is a company has to recognize they have a problem.]

I figured BFG would jump at it. They've refunded some of my money but decided not to even hear my proposal. Perhaps they are content to screw people until they go out of business.

A shame really, I actually think they have a good hardware design.

Also in an email they did admit their lasers are probably closer to 100mW. I figure substantially less than that.

If they change their mind I will certainly let everyone know.

What a shame! I am really disappointed with how this has been turning out for BFG! Such a sad fate for company that could have done so much more!

Your offer is very generous, but as you said, if the company itself fails to deny their own problem, then there will be nothing to fix! Furthermore, any fix would only be temporary. :(

LOL that's great! I didn't realize the forum software automatically replaced certain words with "I'm a stupid spammer". Can I get the list of words?

The list of banned words follows:

i am a stupid spammer
i am a stupid spammer
i am a stupid spammer
i am a stupid spammer
i am a stupid spammer
i am a stupid spammer
and especially i am a stupid spammer

Does that clear it up for you?.... ;)

in case anyone hasn't seen my last post in the price chart, when updating it i noticed that BFG lasers are now advertising as "100mW +/- 10mW" and have lowered their price to $199 + $25 shipping...if the laser actually costs more than 50% of the price they previously sold it at... well, they're now selling it at 30% less than the old price (ignoring shipping)...

That's a pretty interesting point... In my opinion, this is a much better advertising strategy... and a much more realistic claim. Not to mention a much more reasonable price ;)
