Would you really take the risk of not getting what you ordered for a mere 4$? If it were 20-30$ difference I'd give it a try, but 4$? Just get DTR's diode, he has great customer service as well.

Well I already ordered. Plus closer look tells me this seller has a return policy and they stand behind their diodes. Dtrs auction says he wont take the diode back once its opened(gee thats great since I can tell there is an issue with it from inside the packing- sarcasm). I took a chance to save money since I can just file a dispute if its not as described or does not work there is really no risk. Also this seller is able to get me the diode faster since they use priority shipping. I will keep you updated on the diode and its condition when it arrives.

100% gozert---agree completely.
DTR has a beyond excellent track record with LPF member purchases.
Everyone can put their trust and faith in in his items for sale, his service, quick shipping, and product information regarding diodes plus he is a respected LPF member. Why look elsewhere for $4 difference?

Faster turn around, cheaper diode and a return policy sorry DTR but I had to try them out.

I just wanna say DTR has been great to me on our previous transactions and I agree 100 percent with his great customer service I just have no extra income and have to save every dollar I can I know this might get me trolled but oh well. Plus thats 4 dollars more I will make when I sell it to my friend in 2 months. lol

Also I know I haven't made a presence on the forums but I watch postings daily since 2011 and just want to say I look at you guys as like a brotherhood of mine and none of you know me.lol I got mad respect for alot of you guys lava dtr pyro arg lazerer tons of ppl I am forgetting these are just the ones I have had help from over the years but you are all awesome.

I will keep you guys posted on this ebay seller their customer service and the quality of the extraction. I may even take some pics of my new build :) it would be the first I ever posted to the forum even tho I have built a few more.

It's not that DTR is the only supplier or that anyone has to buy from him--it's just that he had been a trusted, and reliable supplier for a very long time, an LPF member, and his customer service is second to none.

Good luck with the ebay purchase----keep us informed---let us know your finding with the Texas ebay girl seller.

I totally agree, I'm involved in the 515nm group buy and its great.

The group buy is also offering several other diodes, which could also be bought from DTR.

I decided against buying them in the group buy, even though they are a couple buck less than buying from DTR,

The hassle of some of the digging and pressing and setup, etc isn't worth the extra few bucks most of them time.

I'd much rather go with DTR for a lot of these.

I also asked some questions about the 510 modules (which I'm planning on several) - he immediately replied, and was very helpful in my quest!

Finally - Especially on the M140/A140 situation - If it was more than a couple bucks less, I'd check DTR's web notes on the difference, just in case :)

Just curious, how will you let us no? Do you have an LPM? If so I would also try out this same diode and do my own "testing" lol.... :thinking:

No sadly I dont have an lpm but I have a m140 I bought from dtr thats in my first build with a xdrive at 1.8a that I will never part with that I can compare it with. That and the circle marking near the barcode should give me a good idea if its a legit m140. I noticed from the same seller the same diode without lens even cheaper and they also list what I guess is an A140 so I would imagine these are true m140s but time will tell.

There is a difference in the marking on the back, the M140 should have a circle by the barcode.

That 3/4$ is buying you peace of mind... supporting our local-ish forum by supporting a great diode dealer that you wont have to guess on. How will you compare your two builds without an LPM? Do you know if they actually will have a return policy? And arnt all m-140s extracted? hence the solder blobs?

Well I think the nichia 1.6w 5.6mm has the same markings so I dont know if i would say that but not all extracted diodes come out looking the same. lol Some ppl should not extract diodes just saying... I was gonna visually inspect the diode post pics of it and visually compare it with the other laser. About all I can do I suppose. Does anybody know of a cheap lpm with a budget mindset because I have alot of student loan payments I have to make lolol

Lasersbee is still the only "cheap" source I know of, and that's still going to cost you 300-400.

That is why 9x out of 10 lol I never buy diodes and down to the little things such as wire from places like ebay. I ran out of the famous 22&26 gauge wire and just for shits and giggles I did a search on ebay and came acroos an amazing deal on 10ft of red&black wire from a china dealer for 3.99$ W/free shipping... Still ended up coming back here as always and made my purchase through flaminpyro, not just to support a fellow forum member but know that its going to be exactly what I need no questions asked.. I don't care how much money I could be saving shopping somewhere else. Anytime I buy from anyone here I know I'm getting gold!!! It's Christmas everyday in the forums lol :san::san::san:
