Worried 462nm might be "too" blue?

Hap I want to bring the makeup of your current collection into this. I gather that your not after megawatts. I think an m462 driven at common power would be overwhelming. I see your question too blue regarding power more than color. Do I have this right?

Anyone claim they can light white printer paper, or even darken it, with a 2+ watt laser? If it will burn white painted walls, it should to the same with white printer paper.
Yes mine will burn white paper, But remember my M462 has OPT Laser 2X Cylindrical Lens Pair Fast Axis Correction so within feet it has a fairly small dot.....

I'm not talking about a focused beam. Just a normal direct diode laser focused to infinity. Once you focus the beam to a specific spot, you increase the energy density far higher than it would be otherwise. I have a 70 mW laser that burns too. It can be focused down to a fraction of a mm.

Hummmm, i should try that with my 532nm 80mW, Maybe i can make a mini beam expander for it ?

Yes. If this diode came in powers of 10-30mW I'd have chosen that over the 1.4W option. Sorry for not responding earlier, I got sad again :(

If you don't mind me asking sad about what ?

When bad things tend to happen in my life, I suppose you could say I tend to take it over the top and get pretty badly depressed. It's gotten better since I've stopped my anti-depression medication, but it's still here *sigh* :(

I'm sorry to hear that, Alex. I've known people afflicted with major depression and it is as bad as any other disease one might contract. I'm not saying that you suffer from major depression, but depression alone can be devastating to the person suffering from it. Sometimes it clears on its own. Other times...... not so much. I will try to bin a low 503nm diode for you when I get the chance. :)

Hello Paul,

Yes, it can be quite as hard indeed. I also suffer from pretty bad OCD & anxiety, which really takes quite a big part of my everyday life, and intrusive thoughts can be at times frustrating to the point of going crazy. I've mostly just been trying to deal with it the last few months, but I may need to see a psychologist, although when I saw one awhile back it only helped slightly. Oh well, any help is better then none :undecided: :(

Might work to your advantage to see a psychiatrist. They are MDs and since you are dealing with three different problems, it can get difficult to treat properly. I don't know that much about treating OCD, but GAD is treatable with anxiolytics and there are so many different antidepressants that finding the right one, or combination of them can take a long time. It has been my experience that antidepressants work best at the lowest therapeutic dose on an individualized basis. I hope you get to feeling better soon.

I hope so too Paul. Regarding the 505 diodes, don't be in any rush please to find one soon. I still have a lot of catching up to do financially before any more lasers
can be added

Have you tried any medications that have helped? Any doctors?
