I will build another one in a craftman timing light as the host. I built a cute compact ssy gun a while back that uses most of the original TL board, and has extra caps in it. My new version will also have the option of extra-cavity SHG or possibly modify the SSY-1 for intracavity SHG. Will keep ya posted.

I hope your rod wasn't damaged in that fall, i have a ssy-1 myself and i would hate for anything to happen to it.

TheTelsaWarrrior:

Hi, I've had my SS1-y lying in a box for a year now. I don't have a PSU. Is there anyway you could share you PSU ideas with us. Sounds like you made a simple PSU using a photo flash caps and a lighter piezo..I have no idea how to do this. Would love to punch holes in things too:)

Thanks!

I started an SSY-1 project a year or so ago. It will be built into a Klingon disruptor gun. The PS is a camera flash with a voltage doubler to get more energy.
ALWAYS wear protective goggles with these lasers. NEVER take a chance.
