Some feedback about 561nm

Hey yall,
Since CNI is so difficult to order from in the states I am taking advantage of the 589 GB and went ahead and contacted CNI about making me a PGL-III-C-561.
So they can make me one in 5mW for $500 but also just offered to make one in 20-23mW for $700.
Will I be able to see the beam at night with 20mW or will it still only be a laser spot on a wall like I assume the 5mW would be? I don't mind paying the extra $200 if it means a visible beam.

I am almost as excited about the 561 as the 589. Chartreuse is my favorite color so to have a laser in this spectrum will be awesome!

beam will likely be visible, but dim on a 20mW 561. as you probably know that's only 6nm away from our peak sensitivity

You should be able to, it also depends on if you have fog/dust in the air. As you know 507nm is the peak wavelength at night and my 593.5nm has a visible beam at night if there is enough dust particles. 561nm being 22.5nm closer to the peak night visibility of 507nm you should see a beam with 20mW's definitely, what im not so sure about is how bright it would be.

As far as I know few people have seen 561nm, so if you can spare the extra money you will have a very unique and rare laser to your collection!

Thanks for the feedback. Yeah i am super stoked to add that wl to my collection. Foggy night beam pics will be really awesome! Im fine with a dim beam just want to see a little something. This hobby is so addictive. I am selling one of my skydiving rigs so in the future i can also get a 80mW 473 dpss and 593.5.
I saw Ultra Lasers has the 80mW 473 and thats the highest power i have found in that wl. Anyone have some feedback on that company? So far i have read good things about them. I think they are a re-seller of CNI.
Also BeamQ has some nice 593 but don't have a good reputation.

It sure would be nice if CNI could build a 561nm in the same 80mW output range as the 589's for that price!
Have you decided to add the 561nm to your collection?

Yes, I can see that you are definitely addicted; at least you haven't had to sell any organs yet! :D

I'll toss out there that I'm open to selling my 556 (561). I'm not dying to sell it, but I rarely use it, and it's a pretty valuable/rare item to own but not use.

Yes I have decided I want this wl for sure. The max power CNI can make portable is the 20-23mW but I also wish they made a 80mW!!!!!

What host/manufacturer is it in and what power output?

I think there's only one manufacturer - CNI. It's an 18650 host. There's a thread about it somewhere. Aryntha and I both got one. CNI sold it to us as 556nm, but I've always expected it to be 561nm (I probably spectrod it at some point and confirmed that).

I think it was 20mW. Not sure if it is over / under spec.

I am very interested in this as it will take some of the pressure off of importing so many lasers from china. Pm sent.
Thanks

Tha Greenlander got quotes for 561nm 5mW GLP pens at $350 ask them if that's still a valid price if so and we can wait until late June ill get one.

I can see my 10mW 561nm laser's beam pretty clearly in a dark room. I can see it in the daylight too sometimes. It's quite bright.

I have a Lasever LSR473-ML-100 labby that had a measured power output of 204mW.
I say, "HAD" here because it went to pot a few years ago. :cryyy:
