As inspired by the RB Astro " Gensis Project " and the suggestion from the Alaskan.....
See...http://laserpointerforums.com/f44/g...-white-rainbow-proof-concept-build-99140.html
YES...YES Chris....This can be done !!! and... " Terrawatt Labs " (TWL) has the design/solution on hand !!
OK....TWL proposes a back-to -back , up-down concept !
The footprint of the RGB module is 44mm long x 39mm wide.
Module "A" output = Beam "A", Module "B" output = Beam "B"
Mount Module "A" on a 39mm x 100mm x 5.6mm Aluminum Base plate
This Base plate will also have Module"B" mounted to it....on the opposite side.....so...it is common to BOTH modules.
Mount a bounce mirror in front of Module "A". Mount the mirror so that Beam "A" is directed down, toward the Base plate.
Machine a bore hole into the Base plate to allow Beam "A" to pass thru and head toward the other side ... toward Module "B"
Mount Module "B" to the opposite side of the Base plate. Mount a PBS cube in front of Module "B"
OK...Now....Beam "A" will enter the PBS cube from the bottom....and Beam "B" will enter the PBS cube from the side.
The beams will combine to deliver the " Beam-On-Beam " alignment ...AKA.." BOB" hahahahaha !
We should now have 800mW of blazing White....in a most compact package !!!
This White Coherent " Double Decker" WILL be built...I assure you. Well...very, very LIKELY !! I bet the Alaskan is thinking about this now !!
I will build one...the optics on this are very easy !! ...and the beauty of the Single Mode LD is perfect !!!
Just sent your regards to the TWL - Professor Puffindart for this inspired design !!
CDBEAM
Note: We MAY need a Waveplate filter to rotate the polarization on one of the beams before it enters the PBS...not sure ??...But....I do not think so with the way the Beam "A" is being bounced.
Note: BTY...A big thanx to Matuz/OPT Laser for offering this little RGB beauty. Great Design !!!
