This will be an interesting build, sounds like lots of work with the LCD and everything!

I bet Arglaser could give you some alignment tips :D

Heh. Not really. He's doing the right thing using mounts. Makes my stuff look like caveman work. You just got to have the patience to get it right, which isn't easy in a small area.

Hi Arg, you have been there and done it !
...all I got is a few shiny parts at the moment.
The fun (problems) will start when things start geting bolted together......
I'm hoping to have all the mechanical parts made in the next 1-2 weeks.

Yup. The the optics is the hardest part, but also the most rewarding :D Get it set up where you can point the beam 10m away, so then you can get a good near field and far field alignment :)

How are you going to hold the modules?

+1 for chamfering those existing holes

There are 3 more holes :D on the uderside that will have a grub screw in to lock the module in place.
You can see one of them on the 3d model underside view, by the circular recess.
They will be hidden by the cover plate that holds the key switch.....

LCD arrived yesterday - I can now finish the design of the optic bay cover now.
Tools to mill the underside cover arrived too - now need to snatch a bit of machine time:evil:
