^Now add a 660 red diode. :)

By itself, it will look red to many people. Have you seen the red CFLs sold in stores? The "red" phosphor has a peak at 611nm.

I wouldn't honestly go for a 612nm if that's the case... Well, sure I'd pick it up and sell it to the forum if I found it in the wild, but I don't think I'd keep it if it were like the red phosphor. Maybe 600nm would be closer to a true orange... Anybody know where I can get a working dye laser that runs at 600nm?

I will grant it is tough for the camera to display the difference

However, in person, there is no doubt

Yeah, I'm sure the difference is striking next to red. I said "By itself, it will look red to many people." By that I mean: if you ask a random guy off the street what color the dot was, he might say red.

I'd like to think we (laser enthusiasts) have an... enhanced perception of color. :beer:
