Need advice on the Spartan 1W from DL

I'm about to buy the Spartan 1W Blue laser from DragonLasers. I've read in a review that you need 3V batteries for it, I have them but on the side of the battery it says: The voltage of full charge and empty condition is 3.6V and 2.0V, Respectively.
On the other side of the battery is says: TR 15270 800mAH 3.0V.

Does this mean it's actually 3.6V or 3.0V? And is there a possibility to damage the laser if I put these batteries inside when they are 3.6V?
The brand of the batteries are UltraFire.

I also have a question about the beam. It says that the beam and dot is rectangle shaped, Does this look much different from a normal laser? And does this make the laser look ugly or something?

Thanks in advance!

Why avoid DRagonlasers? There a good company right?
Or did you mean something else with DL?

This thread outlines DL's customer service, along with return policy and inconsistency with on-spec units. While they do have their fair share of positive units, if you get burnt on a bad unit, you're out how ever much you spent. They are a reseller of CNI lasers, which are top notch items but that doesn't mean that they are going to send out a good product to you.

rhd probably knows this best, but others around here would still vouch for DL.

For instance, personally, I like DinoDirect, but a lot of people around here don't like them. I got burnt on one deal from them (600mw instead of 800), but for the price, 600mw was about what I could get elsewhere.

Dragonlasers does not offer a good return policy, IIRC in the thread, shipping amounted to about $200. DinoDirect, a cheap-chinese drop site offers a better return policy.

So if I get a under spec laser and bave to return it, then I have to pay the shipping myself? Is that all?

In my case, they also (fraudulently as far as I'm concerned) kept $56 of my payment. So I was out $60 shipping, and $56 that they never returned (~$120 in total)

Is there another site with the same quality of lasers and also a good customer service?

Well I think the Spartan 1W 445 from DL is a very good choice for this type of laser.
Dragonlasers is normally top quality.

All the reviews about it are very good unlike some other companies it was always 1W+.

If you want more power I would look for a custom laser from a member here and if you are fine with about 800mW I would go wit the Rifle from lazere.com

I bought a spartan 1w blue from them, customer service for me was great.
The laser was also great, i don't have a LPM and not much experience with lasers but i could tell it was 1w+ compared to the speed it burned things compared to a 300mw green 200mw green and 200mw red i had.
I'd be tempted to sway for the Rifle445 cus its focusable, but at the same time people have been saying they come with an acrylic lens which melts after a certain time.
