Default My white laser

Hi all,
first off this not a knife array or anything like that. i just lined up the beams of three separate lasers to meet at a single point to make a white light.

laser wavelengths used:
650mn 100w
532nm dpss 200w (give or take)
405nm 200w

ill try and take a dark room pic

Wow, ever that I have thought about white lasers I was thinking in knife edge or combined beams, nice and simple pic!

Wow! This is the first white I've seen with a higher green output than red. I'm trying to make a 7 color box including white, however I'm buying a 200mw 650nm, 50mw 532nm, and 100mw 405nm for a 4:1:2 output ratio. I'm surprised that you still get that color with a 1:2:2 ratio.

Btw, I think you meant mw instead of w.

White laser, you mean a flashlight?

Just kidding, sh!tty joke. Anyway, nice combo and seems like a pretty vivid white if I may add.

Same with me, I'm pretty surprised you did a higher powered green than red. I would think that would give it a diluted green look, guess not. Seems pretty pure to me

Default Re: My white laser

I knew I done that before too, here I found a pic.
It's amazing how white it looks, pointing unfocused RGB lasers into a Styrofoam cup makes it glow white.
Now you can buy the RGB engines, but ups beats all my packages up so badly I doubt I would get it intact.

I have a pic somewhere of half a dozen 445's all pointed at a chunk of wood, but it's mostly just smoke and fire, lol.

I have an idea for a white laser diode, use a triangle waveguide and put a RGB emitter on each flat, with tight factory tolerances and equal size emitters it could be a winner, a thermal couple insulator like you put under a transistor could be used under each emitter.

It was a long while back, I think it was a 100mw 405nm, a 200mw 660nm, and a 50mw 532nm.

yes mw

i really didnt think of how it would look when i combined all three wavelengths. i was just curious to see what would happen.

Here's one I made by mistake, I was just doing a RGB rainbow shot, and thought a pic with the beams converging would look good; I didn't even notice the resulting white dot till later.

The three lasers are: 638nm (232mW) - 532nm (161mW) - 450nm (327mW)
