is my IR diode dead???

So do you really think this diode was dead when you got it and you had nothing to do with it dieing ?

Please tell who the suppler was then, thanks...

Well yes I'm very sure it was dead all along. My first beamshot was taken immediately after hooking the diode up when I after I pulled it out of the package that it came in.

I've started building lasers over 5 years ago and have a couple of other completed ones. I've also built various other electronic gadgets such as audiophile grade amplifiers, etc. So I do know a thing or two about electronics and how to avoid ESD, etc. My other 2 lasers are LASORB protected :wave:

So yeah while I killed the free 100mW diode by overheating, it's certainly not the case with the primary diode that I'm using now.
