So I'm seriously gonna take the plunge and drop the 400$+ for a 5mw here in the next few months. My question to those of you who know is: which yellow? 589nm or 593nm? All my options are about the same price, and I have three I am considering.

1st, a Spartan 589;Orange Handheld Laser --- 589nm Laser ----- Spartan Series Lasers :: Handheld Lasers :: Dragon Lasers

2nd, a Rigel-6; https://www.laserglow.com/GRI#

3rd, the WL 589, which is a "collector series" and apparently does not have a link, however there's a post or two with photos of it in action floating around here somewhere.

Any advice is much appreciated, thanks- :beer:

589 is more yellow, 593 is more "amber" . I would go fora a CNI groupbuy if they still do those.
EDIT: Rigel's price also looks fair.

I saw the Rigel's recent price drop to 400$ for the 2-9mw version. I think that will be the one... But what about the stability issues everyone talks about in 593nm?

NEVER BUY FROM WL.....I'm very surprised that people even consider this company with the 25+ threads here explaining ALL about this company!!!

On the positive, any CNI built laser will be one of the best quality lasers you can buy on the market.....hope your ready for the price though:beer:

Yeah WL was a last resort option in this case, just a consideration since it seems only two laser companies sell orange/yellow at a non-highway robbery price. I'm leaning towards the Rigel 6, as long as it's stable it's more milliwatts for your $.

Bud, buy the Rigel-6 594nm "the most beautiful wavelength".

Do not buy the E2 589nm Underspect laser or Spartan 589nm.

Also Rigel has the most high quality Laser pen host I have ever touch.

Okay, Rigel it is then. If the price stays where it's at now I should have a Rigel-6 in a month or so. :)

G Fourty could I please get a link to your FS thread? I looked for it but can't seem to find it. :/

Edit: found the thread, sorry but that's more than I'd be willing to pay for a secondhand 5mW 589nm, especially now that I'm probably going for 593.5nm. Thanks for your suggestion though, and good luck with your sale. It's a very nice laser. :)
