Is this what things turn to when things don't go their own way? I can understand being upset with the rude factor but come on...

Read the thread, he's not looking for a 1W blue laser. We're all saying "get a single mode blue".

not much help ever comes until you fill in your personal profile-we dont sell lasers or hand out much advice unless your location appears under your user name- they are NOT for everyone- maybe you should just get a nice LED flashlight...

Lol Wow! Sorry, you wasted 10 long valuable minutes, and then some on a reply....

Anyways, im just looking for a certain laser , quick easy and make someone a few bucks if possible. Yeah that "single mode blue" laser looks like what i need. Although i dont know the difference from single mode and others. And preferably with the switch on the end.

Thanks

Just some friendly advice from a newbie on the forums but an attitude like that may get you negative reputation.
It's a really bad thing; no one will trust you, not many will be willing to sell to you. Be a bit more polite in your reply and more people would be willing to help you.
Haven't personally dealt with either cantthinkofone or blaster but from what post I've read from them I'm sure that they are great informative people. hakzaw1 on the other hand I have interacted with and he is a great guy.
Telling people off is uncalled for as they are just giving advise on now to be accepted by the members here.
Read This thread: http://laserpointerforums.com/f37/how-get-along-accepted-lpf-82184.html will help you in the long run here on this forum.

That said I have a laser that you might want a 445(blue)
with 3 Mode Driver boosting 330ma on high, 120ma on low, and strobe
or 250mw on high and 100mw on low.
pm for price and details

My responses are true and to the point. It may seem negative. But with comments like "Maybe you should get an LED flashlight" or " get a weaker laser first" just goes to show they are assumptions, almost ridicule. I asked for advice/options for a certain blue laser, not advice on how to get along with members here.

Thanks herunotsurugi, ill pm you.

Point on grammer, I'm using as i always almost do a cell phone ,so typos grammer etc is rather hard to correct compared to a PC or notebook .I realize its not a good look so to speak. But now you know why ..i said i wasted my time mainly because, what can be typed out on a PC in five minutes takes 4 times as long because the cursor jumps around and I'm always having to move it back to where I'm typing next,This is because my screen is just not big enough ,so it is a lot of work getting 15 to 20 lines in a readable form. Not because I'm lazy but if i fixed every typo or grammer mistake i would take twice as long again to fix.
Second i said a bright blue and low power are words i wouldn't put in same sentance .Or don't really exist. By that i mean just about everyone who gets a blue gets a high power m140 diode 445nm based one .At far less price than the other exotic blues between 445nm and 473nm etc. You can get lower powered blues but frankly at around the same money why would you. Hence why i said get a green 30mW. We get a lot of people jump on and want advice help straight away and often we don't hear from them again after they have got what they need, so when my advice is dismissed i get rather annoyed.Just typing this post has taken me over 22 minutes and its an easy post not a lot of thought but something i needed to say.

1. Update your grammar to semi-competent reading level, before dishing out safety advice. It looks very unprofessional otherwise.

2. I started with a 250mW+ 650nm 20X laser. I am fine.

Starting off with ~100mW of 532/520 will be fine. It gives you the clean visibility of a clean green beam, with the safety of not waving around a class IV device.

Specular radiation only becomes an issue when you're in the Class IV range. With blues, it's a "double trouble" scenario. The specular radiation can not only be a blinding hazard, but the overload and intensity of the blue wavelength can cause blindness in the green spectrum. This is why I think I have a hard time differentiating high WL 520's from 532.

The second possibility would be an 80-100mW 450nm. Still a clean, fairly visible beam. However you get that cool blue beam that is unfamiliar to most non-laserists.

I would also recommend a single mode 635/638nm. These are less visible than the blue, but there is still a semi-visible beam. Plus the orange-red color is very appealing.

Just be safe, and if you're doing up close burning, I would recommend glasses. Not so much because of the specular radiation, but moreso because that will get VERY bright. Like looking at the sun on a cloudless day. You'll have a blue-green spot in your vision for a while ;)

Enjoy the hobby!

EDIT: "no such thing as a bright blue without high power."

That has to be, by far, the most objectified and subjective advice I have ever seen. If all you've seen are those red key chain lasers, like myself before coming to the hobby, 50mW of 450 will be very bright. However if all you work on is 10W 532, it will not be very bright at all, relatively speaking.

Please keep your advice,
1. Professional in the grammar department.
2. Scientific. If anything.
