Is this a CNI laser in a Laserglow barrel, or is it something else? I strongly suspect it's a CNI, but I want to be sure before I order it.

main1zoom.jpg

It looks like it's got the button and the clip lined up together.  Unfortunatly, they only have that one pic so it's not too clear.

edit-  could you post up some pics of your yellow?  I've enjoyed the other pics you've posted.  You and I seem to have similar desires in pointers.

edit2- I can't find a yellow on what I'm assuming is Dragonlasers? I'd definantly be interested in a 5mw yellow, but the only ones in that power range I can find are RPL's...

In the laserglow pic posted by quadcam , that doesn't look like a clip lined up with the button, I think it's their inscription, could be wrong though :-/

does any1 know if energizer lithium batteries are compatible with the Rigel?
i suspect they may just give it that extra little kick in terms of brightness.
im not sure and dont wana risk over-powering and frying my laser.

Yeah, I would imagine it might give it a little boost but if they're already that unstable with alkaline batteries... it might not work out too well...

And in that picture with the Rigel it's the logo that's lined up with the button.

BTW... Awesome pics Sawt al Hurriyah!

All DPSS yellow lasers are unstable. They are created using a patented technique combining SHG 1064nm and SHG 1342nm within the cavity. They are incredibly sensitive to temperature and current changes and the optics are so precise that a drop can disable the laser permanently.

External combining of laser beams produces a nice yellow but you can have phase issues depending on your application.

If you are highly motivated you could build a sodium laser or a nitrogen pumped dye laser and extract yellow also.
