I'd think it would be a more gradual diminishing but it just seems to stop. I suppose that also has to do with the way it appears, perhaps the last ten percent of the beam is several times more than all the distance between where the beam starts and I see what appears to be the end of the beam due to the angle.. ah, maybe not.

How far do you want to go? I just took mine on a 2000km trip and I could see it all the way from one end to the other.

I think it will theoretically go forever. Until it hits an object or gets sucked into a black hole.

Yes, in theory, you could bring your laser on a space ship to the next galaxy over and it still wouldn't disintegrate. This is still just a theory though, so just to be safe, I would avoid bringing a nice laser on any galactic adventures due to the possibility of it vaporizing or getting sucked into a black hole.

P.S. sorry, I'm tired.
