im not sure about argon's, im yet to even see one yet :(
what i do know is that 473 dpss is bright!
there is a huge difference to brightness level in the daytime and in darkness.
in light, the blue is tricky to see. a green at quarter the power of the blue would seem significantly brighter.
in the dark, a blue laser at 50mw would probably match the brightness of a 30mw green.

the eyes response curve is different at night it skews higher by about 40nm to around 515nm instead of about 560nm in the day

Well, if you look into it, then pretty bright.

The dot of my 5mW green is about the same brightness as my 5mW blue. The blue is a little overspec, though. And I don't know about the green, but it should be over 4.5mW

Here is a picture of a 15mW 473nm blue and a 10mW green. It reality they were very close although the green is slightly brighter. :)
