Hey this is my first post, I am looking to purchase a 1w blue laser. I've been looking at the Spartan and read all reviews on this website. I'm thinking about ordering it. Would that be my best option? If so What are the proper batteries needed and what is the best way to condition them? I am looking for a good quality 1w blue laser in that price range. Thank you all

you say youve read all the reviews here but yet your still asking us for advice? make your decision based on the reviews. if your still not sure thats the laser for you then do some more searching on this site. batteries are listed on sellers website.......kinda confused why you are asking us about your decision

maybe I wasn't clear. i just wanted to know these things exactly,

1. is the spartan considered top of the line for blue 1w handhelds quality wise?

2. The guy that owns dragon lasers has been in contact with me and said that most lasers are manufactured in china but dragon lasers are made in hong kong and are better quality.

3. Are there other blue 1w lasers you can recommend?

Thank you for your time.

id say any laser you buy on here is a better quality than dragon laser. a few people have had problems with them lately but you should know that from the reviews you read

Hong Kong or China......who cares, its still not the quality of made in the USA or made by LPF member :p

Dragonlasers is pretty good but there are better quality laser companies out there. Since you seem to be aiming higher than the usual 445nm 1W Laser purchaser, here are some better companies (IMO):
1. CNI
2. Optotronics
3. Laserglow
4. Jetlasers

I will NOT come back on here and give you links though. Use your brain. If you cannot find a website when you have been given the brand name, I am not sure you should have a laser. Personally I think the Spartan is an ugly laser----like really ugly. I hate the host so I definitely recommend one of those others. Alternatively, buying a home brew is always pretty good especially since reviews and opinions of the builder are easily found and pics of the internals will be easily obtained(not true for manufacturers).

oh wow...
Thats a bit impolite .... kids these days.. but anyway.

1:
NO NO NO NO!
Spartan is NOT the top of the line . Wicked Lasers produce HIGHLY over-hyped and over-priced products with shite quality and underspecs power.

2:
Dragon lasers does not make lasers , they are a reseller and a assembler of lasers , they use quite of a bit of CNI modules. So their quality tends to be quite good .
(I know , I know.. I'm from Hong Kong , you are are gonna say I'm biased. So perhaps someone else has a take on this)

3:
Yes, buy one from the custom laser specialists ,such as Blord the engineer at the B/S/T section. Or buy one from Daguin. The resident LASER DUDE!
That way you can have a laser tailored specially to your needs.

If you are on a budget , try Survival Laser . Its entirely made in America, and also happen to be owned by one of the vets on LPF.
if you are REALLY REALLY on a budget, try Techhood or Laserland on eBay , they also make some quality lasers for its price.

This post makes me think it is wicked lasers that sells the spartan... It is dragon lasers right? Spartan =/= Arctic.

edit:
Afaik dragon lasers is great. Its on the "high budget and quality" lasers imo. BUT I don't recommend someone having a 1W laser as first laser...

edit2:
maybe this can change his mind.

ahh sorry for being rude, I guess I just thought this was another forum where people wanted to belittle others that didn't know as much as them. (you know how those are) I didn't actually realize that members on this forum were actually very knowledgeable and helpful. This forum is also extremely well organized and put together. I actually feel like people are trying to help me and care about what I have to say. Basically I googled laser pointer at work the other day and of course wicked lasers popped up and I was convinced this is what I wanted. Something told me there may be better options and I'm thankful I've been doing more research before ordering one. I read that wl did not have the best reviews or quality. I want a quality 1w laser. Yes I realize this very powerful and dangerous, I have the funds to buy proper safety equipment and will be extremely careful. I have been working 13 hour days and I just need a hooby really. I had no idea lasers with this power even existed, anyways I am also looking into building one. I've watched many tutorials and have obtained a very very basic understanding of how a laser works. I just need a very very blunt basic guide. If anyone has any information at all on this subject that is appreciated. Thank you for everyones time.

if you want a "noob" friendly laser guide then click on the yellow link in my signature below. dont know why i didnt point you there to begin with :headbang:

WL is absolute junk (over priced and under spec), id never buy directly from them, ever! Buying from members here is always a good idea since they are laser enthusiasts and put their hearts into their builds. The guide will talk about trusted sellers, both companies and members here. any further questions you can post them here or in the guide. im always looking to update that guide to make it a one stop place for new members
