I can't seem to find any legit PL-450 Osram diodes. Every time I search it ends up being the PL-450B.

Does anyone know where I can obtain a 80mw PL-450 Osram 450nm diode?
It's power curve shows it will lase at about 2.4mw so this would be perfect if i could find one.

The PL-450B is a 120mw diode and I'm being advised that it starts lasing at 15mw. The power chart graph appears to show it will lase lower but I'd take DTR's word for it... and that makes me sad.

I want Blue, not violet. I want Single Mode not Multi-mode. I need it to be Eye Safe.

I was also advised I can get a red filter for the PL-450B and possibly get it down to <5mw. What filter? and Where to obtain it? How to mount it?

I would like it in a module. I should have mentioned this also. I would prefer not to solder to the diode on my first build with a ~35.00 diode.

I found Osram PL450 450nm 80mW TO38S on a few sites as diode only and I may just have to bite the bullet and try my hand at it.
I absolutely love the ~450nm range.

Not sure that the PL450 will actually lase any lower than the PL450B but one thing to note the PL450 was discontinued a while ago. Unless they are sitting on some old new stock there is a good chance if you order a PL450 they will send a PL450B. Sellers will on diodes like this keep the listings for search rank and selling history but deliver the newer revision. I see it with this and the PLTB450 as the PLTB450B is the only one rolling out of the factory currently. If you do I would contact first and make sure they have some new old stock of the PL450 laying around. They are actually discontinuing the PL450B and now it will be the PLP450 which is the same power single mode but in a 5.6mm can. I just got the first tester batch of them in yesterday.;)

LP 450nm 1-80 these lasers have been tested to be at or below 5 or 1mw depending on which one you get. they are single mode and laserbtb is a reliable company.

Matt's actually right, those might be better suited to what you're looking for. Plus that divergence

That does look like an awesome suggestion. Thank you. I already bought the osram pl450 but if that doesn't work out I'll go this route.
