Very good find Razako, it isn't easy to come by 594's nowadays. +rep

I bought a 473 from that seller! I like it a lot :)

Yeah, they're where I got my 593.5 pointer from as well. It honestly works great. After warming up it consistently puts out 2-4+ mw when using NiMH batteries.

This is good to hear. How stable is the output, considering that 594 is a pretty unstable wavelength?

Relatively stable after the host gets warm to the touch. Very unstable while warming up. All of these pens are different though. It's a 'luck of the draw' kinda thing.

That's is pretty good! When I've got some money, I may have to look into one. 594's are usually so unstable.
Thanks Razako.

I've collected the needed crystals to build my own, when I get back home. But, curious what the power of these really are, anyone know? A lot of sellers put 5 mw on their ebay listings to keep them from being pulled when the power can be much higher, anyone ever measure the output of one of these?

I bought a "5mW" 473 from this same seller and mine peaked at 6mW so I'd say their pretty spot on in regards to labeling the power.

I agree with Alaskan, as pretty as that color is, it's too much money for something so potentially fragile and only 5mw, if it was a coherent compass used for holography or something needing excellent beam quality then ok, but 5mw and in a pen pointer format which is known to be a fragile thing, I just don't see it.

There is a lot of pump energy turned into heat to make that color, I would prefer a more robust housing.

I just can't pay that much for 5 mw.

Agree is a lot of money $360 for very llittle--just a CNI GLP 5mW pointer--host is OK looking for a pen but not a very good quality host + poor heat transfer.
Price is same as anyone reselling them--average nothing special there.
If you have to have a 5mW 593.5nm pen a CNI GLP is the only game in town--only company that makes any yellow handhelds of any kind, so...
The problem is availability, you don't see them offered often--not many CNI retail resellers offer a 593.5nm GLP because of very little demand for low output power and high priced pen pointers .

Dragon Lasers currently offer a CNI GLP 5mW 589nm for $299 and A 20mW 589nm Spartan for $359 if 589nm will do --is more of a real yellow. So a little less expensive for a 5mW and same pirce for the much better host Spartan 20mW 589nm and 4X the output power of a 5mW GLP pen.
I would guess Dragon could if there was enough interest order in 593.5nm GLP and Spartans from CNI if there was enough demand to make it worth doing --they just have no demand for them so are not ofered on their website--probably at same retail price as well----someone interested shoud ask and find out perhaps if a GB quantity and price can be had.
