This thread here... These pictures... officially convinced me to order one. The color on this is absolutely beautiful.
besides, if it's truely >60 mW $540 isn't too bad (that's the price I was told by one of the ava's from CNI)
Now to find an extra $300

o.o You were offered >30mW for $540? That's far cheaper than what RHD and I got. Odd.

Here's a yellow (593.5nm) burning through a focusing doublet. Stabilized at 196mW. It will burn without the lens but it was much faster focused and the beam looked like a needle.

So I finally got around to testing this bad boy's divergence. CNI did a great job with the focusing on this one!

At aperture, it's around 2.3mm in diameter and at 10ft, it was only 5mm! That's pretty damn impressive, giving a divergence of about .88mrad, implying that, even 100 meters away, it's only 8.8cm wide, which is really good, considering.

So let me get this straight. You don't own a car nor a good camera. But you still has a EPIC 800$ laser?

@offroadfreak: Yup! Then again, I am also a college kid, so... car is sort of unnecessary (living on campus) and camera... who needs a good one anyway when you can have a laser instead?

I've got one of these that peaks at 85mW and another that peaks at 109mW rather reliably. I actually did end up burning something with it by mistake; oddly enough, a Canon DSLR lenscap...

Even for a 30mW, why did she quote you $540?

I'm somewhat upset about that - I think ours were $650 each, shipped free (since we ordered two at once) plus the bank etc and insurance fees.

Are you 100% sure the quote was $540 for 30mW? Do you have any particular angle that would account for a lower quote? Or is this CNI being inconsistent for no reason?
