This is typical of eBay lasers, some turn out with enough power to burn while others are under-spec. It is honesty better to buy from a reputable company or seller, we have a thread on this:
Go to General--->Complete guide to lasers

That should give you a good overview on lasers :)

Please don't buy this laser. I bought one and I regret it. First of all the same laser is sold on eBay for lower prices, however they may not be in AU. I bought the same laser from a different seller, the diode burned out in a few days, I sent it back and now having trouble. eBay is now stepping in to help.

Well you probably ran it over its duty cycle and damaged the diode, but i agree if u gonna spend 100$ on a laser u should buy quality and not gamble on something from ebay its not worth it as all those lasers lack any sort of quality control, they are just mass produced and then sold on sites like ebay aliexpress etc for overprice and people think u get good deal there.. Only decent is the host, i bet inside the components are done very poorly the soldering, heatsink properly etc..

you should contact laserbtb and ask them if they will give you money back if you buy from them and customs take it, i remember they have a policy like that but its best to ask first instead of buying from ebay.

Thanks for the replies guys, but this is basically the only powerful laser that you can find on eBay in Australia. Since importing them is very unlikely especially since Australia has tight ass customs, and the only way of buying a whole laser through is shipping it in two separate ways, which will be extremely expensive probably more than $50 for the shipping alone.

And btw, @USAbro, can you link me the laser you bought ty.

If you are prepared to potentially waste 100 bucks then I say go for it. There is no guarantee that it will last even a few days, but then again it's not impossible that it will live a long and happy life.

When you are prepared to invest in a few hundred dollars more I highly suggest building your own. There is a plethora of information and tutorials to get you up and running and the end result is incredibly rewarding. PM me if you have any other questions :) (not to say that you shouldn't take the advice given above and attempt to answer your own questions).

Although the hosts look the same, some use an A140 diode and some use the M140. It will burn incredibly though and the wiring looked good and solid on mine, nice and tidy. However, it is a gamble, and for the price you should buy one from sflasers, and have them ship it as a flashlight, or better, build your own. Although I have never embarked on that mission (to build my own), I hear it is a very rewarding experience.

Do you still have the laser? Can you show me some pictures? I'd really appreciate that. And also, what is the link of your blue laser purchase, that was similar to mine.
Thanks :)

I am in full support of Willmanners stattement, build your own. If you are a bit unsure start off with a 532nm 15 AUD module on eBay and a cheap host, Sci fi lasers had them for around $20 but are not listed anymore. someone might know where to get one?

I don't have a solder, and buying one is more expensive than the whole laser actually :3. But what's your thoughts on this laser.

Oh and btw guys, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tys9MlM-cfk
this seems to be the exact same laser and these are the results from some guy who uploaded it on youtube. Looks exactly the same. What are your thoughts?

Thanks

Well australian customs, it basically is like importing a bomb :3 So that's why im looking to buy this one, because it is already in Australia, so no customs to deal with

Yes i understand that but its a crap laser all you will most like is burn the 100$ on a laser that will not give you much fun for a long time really i dont see the point in that, unless you can spend that kind of money and dont be mad if it breaks down go for it but ebay lasers usually dont give u quality even if u spend 100 dollars on it they just sell lasers there for profi and dont give a damn about the quality.

Let us know how you go Eagerious.
I would have done the same thing, but I don't need another laser.
People, please realise we take a huge risk in bringing these things in fully built.
Unless you build your own, it's hard to find an Aussie supplier and avoid customs.
Anyway, good luck and keep us posted.

Sure thing, it should arrive within 2 weeks, as it's located in Sydney, your region :D
