No problem, just another toy. DX offered $4 in store credit as a 'refund' - i'll probably ask for a bit more since even the label on it is wrong so they should have known better. Ideally i'll get enough store credit for the next round of chinese roulette :D

Hrrrmmmm, I don't browse Alibaba or DX at all, so I wouldn't know too well. How about an el-cheapo 635, see if those bastages send us a 650 instead.

I'd be up for it. I need to add 635nm to my spectrum anyway.

Because China. Surely you didnt expect anything that the listing said? Use your brain, you aren't new here...this is like when newbies come asking if the "10,000W 445 laser on _____.com" is real or not- the answer is always a resounding "hell naw." This is no different.

Oh no, i never expected it to be the real thing, but the combination of current draw, 'optical pump' and warning of overheating in 30 seconds made me curious.

Obviously these specs are off, but they are much further off than usual. Current draw is about 1/20th of claimed, no optical pumping at all, no overheating, and no 470 nm either. The price is the only really unrealistic thing though, if it was $200 it could have all of that (or not ;) )

i doubt u ever gonna see a cheap blue lasers such as 473nm anytime soon, atleast not on dx and those chinese sites that sells cheap lasers...

Yeah, true that.. but at least they refunded the full purchase price as store credit, so i can play another round of chinese roulette ;)
