Hi Folks like to share a great little pen host for 3.00 at a flea market i bought yesterday, purchased 3 of them. It's a Defiant flashlight pen some one a while ago mentioned this host and i came across a few at a good price so i wanted to see if it would fly, and it did well i must say. It's 5-1/4 inches long and 1/2inch diameter a cu module fits it well. Hope you folks enjoy it like i did building it.
In It is;
Defiant pen flashlight host
PLTB450B diode
X Drive set to 1.150mA
G2 lens
2-Efest 10440 cells
I wanted a low power in this for a longer duty cycle and the WL shift a bit

Rich:)

Nice, these pocket rockets are "blasting off" lately and at these power levels I can see a good balance for using. Do these companys even have a clue of what are being made of them;)

hi,
Well these are nice to build with and i don't think there on to us as of yet. I won't tell if you won't LOL!! These seen to deal with the heat a lot better than the 66 pens . i ran mine for 60 seconds on my LPM and only warm, some heat sinking is considerably better than the 66 pens and these are rear clicky to. Thanks for checking it out Pal.

I have a few of those. Interesting way to add the spring. The only thing I have done with mine so far is stick a couple of 532nm modules in 2 of them but I've got one I removed the anodizing from and a couple more black ones I've kind of messed with. What I did with one awaiting a module is took a dremel bit and made a pocket for a small contact board to fit into. Those lights can be purchased at Home Depot for about $6 each:

I always save my pieces/parts from flashlights and whatever as you never know when something will come in handy like a small contact board.
REP. Glad it worked out doing the spring thing as I was going to try that if the contact board thing failed. Still might.

Oh yeah, it pays to check out home depot for Defiant pens as Bowtieguy found different ones on clearance (sent me one:)). It's this one that he bead blasted:

Lifetime, I think at 60sec with no issues this is the sweet spot of pens at least in 450nm builds:beer:

Hi Pman,
sSo it was Bowtie who mentioned the pens, just didn't remember who thanks for the refresher. Thats were i bought the first one at Home Depot but found more for 3 bucks at a flea i went to sunday. The spring contact is easy you want to make the spring short and compressed remember there's a tailcoat spring and that's all the pressure you need for grounding. I like the contact board build but finding small i'll have to mic the size and search online. I'll be looking for more of these i have some 2- 520 and 2-450 single modes coming and 4=638's Oclaro 700's stocking up brother love these guy better than the 66 pens for sinking hands down and a rear clicky too :) Need to see more of your builds oh how does that washing machine look with all your builds ?? She must be a saint bro, i would have been crucified , flogged and drawn and quartered if i did that.
Rich:)

@ GSS,
Yes my man the pen thing is awesome very time consuming compared to the full size builds. small parts and big fingers don't go well at all LOL !!!

Hi bowtie,
I had a great time building this laser, have 2 more one for a 520 SM and a 638/700 . Have to go and get one more for the 405 16x sled i have hanging out . I'll grab a few this week when i'm at HD. Then i'll have a set of four like my Sinner Magic Pen collection. I like these better than the 66 pens for heat sinking more meat around the Module. Thanks for checking this out, i couldn't remember who did these at first thanks for the seed buddy it's refreshing.

It's nice to have sets, especially if you really like the hosts. That's what I'm doing with my Ti-B's.
BTW - Happy 200 to you! :D
