Nice find Alaskan.
Interesting, according to the label it is a 2-bar. Its power range is 120W.
If I use the 100W 2-bar then 4.5Vx60A=270W. 100/270=37%Eff

4.5Vx75A=337.5W. 337.5*0.37=124.875W which is what you would expect. It looks like you need 4.5V @ 75A to run the 782nm at the moment. It is weird that you have 120W in a 2-bar configuration, as the 120W 808 is 3-bar.

Their old two bar array must have had more diodes in each bar. Yea, I think I have a general idea now. I have written Coherent customer support to see if they can help with specs on the diode I have. All of this adding up well, great figures and insight you had on it.

Being older may be the reason why. By reducing the stack and creating a 3-bar array might actually be a more efficient way of producing 120W. I hope Coherent helps you. Let me know what they say.

Coherent inc. answered my email, telling me I need to contact Coherent Technologies. They are not the same company! I searched the web and found this law article on their being taken to court for trademark infringement: Coherent, Inc. v. Coherent Technologies, Inc., 736 F. Supp. 1055 (D. Colo. 1990) :: Justia

So, I am no further ahead. However, I did find that Coherent-Technologies were heavily involved in LIDAR technology.

Edit: OK, got a line on it now, Coherent Technologies was purchased by Lockheed Martin Inc. Getting specs now probably not likely. I won't push further, just turn up the voltage until it reaches 75 amps and see if it gets too hot or not. If it does, it is meant for QCW, maybe shorter pulses. However, basing upon Coherent's product which is very similar, it is probably a CW unit. Although "F" Pac might mean flash as a pump for a rod, as suggested by the seller. I better not go to 75 amps from the start, instead begin at a quarter of that, less if it will lase, and keep measuring the temperature as I move the current up.

Yes I definitely recommend you gently applying the current. You don't want to cause a thermal runaway. From what we worked out yesterday, I do gather that it is CW. I would refer to the water cooling specs on the 808, for the 782.
I think you should treat it similar to the FAP-800's, reach the threshold and slow ease up.
That is interesting about Coherent Technologies though.
