As my first permanent build, I decided to build a DTR NUBM07E module into a Survival Laser S4X host (both top-notch products!!) I'd like to thank both DTR and Gary for their excellent service. Both parts were delivered in a timely manner, and when the S4X tailcap suffered damage, Gary sent me back a new one without hesitation. DTR also fixed a blown diode for me. :thanks:

The color of the laser, or at least my perception of it, changes quite readily. During the day it tends to look more sky-blue, whereas at night it looks much more cyan. Either color is beautiful.

Proudly powered by 2 Panasonic 18650s, 1 strip of duct tape, and 1 piece of aluminum foil. :)

Now on to the photos!

How do you do that on these forums? I looked up information on how to do it, but could not make it work.

Cool review! Here, I've used tinypic's multi upload to resize them for you.

Next time, just use tinypic to upload, there's a resize dropdown right at the front page ;)

You can just copy paste the image codes into the original post on this thread and replace the giant ones you have now:

I'm going to have to get one of those, with a pocket clip of belt holster they are a good size.

Nice pics. Color change happens quick as you creep up to the 470nm mark. I now have an 80mW 473nm but I don't think I'm going to be able to compare it to my 6W 470nm because of the huge output discrepancy unless it will still output with one cell.

That is a beautiful color ...
Will that 470 Diode lase at low current like a 5 milliwatt ?

And is the Diode less than $100. ?

That 6 watt Pman is talking about is actually a 462nm diode that creeps up to 470nm with the higher power and the heat from the diode. You wouldn't want it for a 5mW build.

Nice laser. I enjoyed seeing your pics.

According to DTR's testing, it would, but it's probably not a good idea. The divergence is quite bad and you are better off getting a single mode 450. In case you still want to buy it, you can pick one up here. The price of a raw diode is $120.
