593.5nm vs 561nm

Hello folks.
I recently put up a WTB thread in the BST forum for 593.5nm, and a member offered me the same price for 30mW of 561nm and 20mW of 593.5nm. I just wanted to know how large the difference is between 589 and 593.5, so I can decide whether 561 or 593.5 is a better choice. Also, for those who own 561, what is it like compared to 532?

Go 561nm dude its more rare. Ive seen 589 and 593.5 side by side and 589 is more yellow but you wont really notice unless you look side by side. If someone is offering you 561 take it and run :D

A purely subjective question. What's your criteria?

I did the arithmetic. 593.5-589= 4.5nm, 589-561=28nm.

561 compared to 532 will appear as a yellower shade of chartreuse. 532 is greener shade of chartreuse.

As the other poster said 561nm is rare to own.

Completely depends, everyone's eyesight is different. I would honestly get 561nm over 593.5nm though, much rarer(as stated above). :)

Those yellow green Power On indication LED's They look similar to that.

I'm sure there's a way, but the easiest is to just use the hex code it produces. IIRC that's the only raw colour code type you can use in the forum for formatting.

Oh, for ages I've been trying to use decimal RGB when it only accepts hex. Thanks.

561nm by far. It's a much rarer color that very few people have. Especially if the 561nm is already built into some kind of portable unit. You can buy 561nm modules, but those can be tricky to find a proper host for. They require a specific CNI GLP host.

If you're collecting wavelengths, jump on the 561nm. I've seen it once before and didn't realize it wasn't the usual 532nm DPSS until after the fact, but the difference is definitely there if you look for it or they're side by side. It's pretty rare and not in too much demand though, so you'll definitely want it if you're looking for every wavelength you can get your hands on.

If you're just looking for the color, go with the 593.5nm.

The 561nm would be a more unusual addition to your collection. If it were my decision, I'd take the 561. ;)

Unfortunately they are in fact not the same price. I'll have to wait a bit before I can get a 561. :(

Fortunately, I will have a GLP-593.5 coming my way quite soon. :D
