Default Is 462nm multimode? Beam quality?

Looking to pick up a 462nm. I was wondering if it's a multimode, and how's the dot look on one of these. I figure rectangular if it's a multimode?
I tried looking it up, but all I got was an interesting article about how they are made different. Pretty technical.

Yes they are multimode, the beam is rectangular. There are two diodes, one has a data sheet:

The other one, the M462 is similar to a M140. I have one right here but it is still waiting to be assembled into a complete laser so I can't comment on it yet. You can see DTR's testing of the M462 here:

But even the PL520 single mode laser diode has a rectangular output, just that the multimode diodes have a far wider one.

That's strange, mine is definately round, unless I try to use a 3 element lens, then you can't tell the shape as it is mostly splash.
