dude! I thought you just got a diode, from looking at the ebay page, there is no way its 3 watts, it might be 500mw, it pulls 900ma from the power source, a 3 watt diode would be drawing 4 amps. Sorry to be the bringer of bad news. it still looks like a very cool laser though.

Yeah it is probably my least favorite laser, but for the price it is still pretty strong although it is definetly not 3 watts.

no way is that 3W. More like 500mW.

And zonestealth has sold some other dodgy lasers in the past. watch out.

It should be CW but it is hard to tell with the low visibility of this laser. I rarely return anything. This item has a 15% restocking fee and I would also have to pay for shipment back. I would honestly rather keep this laser as it is. I will never purchase another laser from this seller though and hope others read about this laser here on this site before buying one. I hate to bash, but this is bashworthy. ( I'm not sure what the popping sound was, probably my GF doing something in the backround)

'The fartest distance it can aim at is about 3000meter (~9000ft).' HAHAHA fartest.

You should send it out for testing or open up a paypal dispute, it will circumvent the 15% fee, you'll get a 100% refund including shipping and all you'll have to pay is return shipping fee, (registered) that's if you win. If you did not plan on sending it back what do you have to lose?

Yep, you've been scammed. Demand a refund, if you paid with paypal, threaten a dispute, if you paid with CC, threaten a chargeback, if you paid otherwise, threaten mail fraud.

And after all that, come back to me and buy a REAL IR laser :D

Perhaps he rates it by power consumption instead of output (like a 3W LED) since it is meant to be a light source rather than a burning laser.

it says right on the auction the output power is <3000mW, plus if he was going by power consumption it would be an almost 3.5 watt laser. it's a scam plain and simple

Yeah it is definetly a scam. I am really not that upset about it though. It wasn't that expensive, plus I knew very well the risks going into this purchase. I read the conditions of the sale and I highly doubted it would arrive as advertised. If this post stops even 1 person on this forum from buying one of this guys lasers than I am happy. I don't need anymore High powered IR lasers at this point anyway. My eyes hate me.

Isn't it? The sticker on my 1W green reads <10W, and the sticker on my 50mW argon reads <.16W. Don't get me wrong; I would prefer he appended the actual output power as well.
