Hey I got a cobalt 2000 from one of my friends for my birthday and I'm looking to sell it to get some money for school.

I WILL use a middle man.Just choose who it will be. It is suppose to be 1800mw at the lowest but who knows. I don't have an lpm so I can't Guarantee the power. But I sure the middle man will be able to verify.

I've used this laser for a total of about 15 mins. The duty time on this laser is about 2 1/2 mins on and 1min off. Both the diode and the driver are copper heatsinked. This laser is also shock proof and water resistant.

With this laser I will include

3 18650 battery's ( don't know the brand but the look very high quality) you guys can be the judge of the batteries.

extension tube to use all 3 battery's at once for more power and longer battery life.

A 2 socket battery charger for any lithium batteries. Ex. Cr2 cr123 18650 10440 etc.

Laser goggles and goggles case. I'm not sure about the OD on these but they are ALOT better then ones Then the focal price ones I have. They block out a large amount of light .

Also I will include a Binocular type magnifying glass that use for burning.

And

Of course the laser itself.

And the Laser its self of course.

I'm wanting 250. I will cover shipping to the middle man. You cover cost of middle man charge and the shipping to you.

Please tell me if the price is too high I really am not sure that is just what I think it would be.

I am not by my laser right now but I will post some pics up later .

Thanks for looking .

EDIT:

PLEASE tell me if any other pictures are necessary. I will post a picture of the Goggles when i home.

"extension tube to use all 3 battery's at once for more power and longer battery life."

I'd have to question that validity of that AwesomeLasers claim.

I'm sorry I don't quite understand

The number of batteries should not effect the output of the laser... except with some drivers - which is not likely in this setup.

IIRC LPF member Trevor did some testing on one of these, so he should be able to confirm if output is affected by using additional battery.

"extension tube to use all 3 battery's at once for more power and longer battery life."

I know for a fact you took that information from their site, so it's not a reflection on you, but...

Unfortunately you greatly overpaid for this laser.

Awesome lasers is a known ripoff although there is a claim that it is under new ownership now. The last owner is a known scumbag and liar.

The current pricing on their website also reflects that. Most people on this forum can build that same/similar laser for under $150. $250 is a bit of a stretch, charger, goggles, extension tube, and batteries do add value, but even with that you're definitely pushing it.

Also website states that output is 2000mW to 1600mW... good call on wanting to use a middle man because it wouldn't be at all surprising if both were low.

The driver is a buck driver - but there's a slight bit of linearity in it. This is based on both what the designer told me and the results of testing it. :)

But it will "take" 14V?

Peace,

Well... it starts to become unhappy at a "four battery" voltage - 16.8.

However, it does fine at 12.6V. I'm not sure where the cutoff is though. We were working with a variable bench PSU, but only looked at the fully-charged battery increments. ><

I just got one in here for repair. The owner was told not to worry about three 18650's. They said the laser could handle four batteries. The owner tried four 16340's and it went dark.

I'll get it torn apart later in the week I guess

Peace,
dave

I actually was up there at their facility this weekend, I'm writing a thread on what I worked with them on when I was there. This post is merely a distraction. ;)

One of the things was the tests on the bench PSU; based on them, I strongly urged them not to use four batteries anymore.

When we applied 16.8V to one of the modules, it went dim then dark. I believe what happened here is that Ian popped four batteries into one or two lasers, had them work, and decided it was a good input voltage.

With both me and Tom (the designer / engineer type) there to advocate science and statistical practices (two votes to one ), I believe the four batteries practice will cease. Cross your fingers.
