Okay, so everybody in that class room has a $50 pair of Od5+ laser goggles that protect against 445nm and 532nm? Because if they do not, then they will get eye damage.

The only reason I am saying this is, if your stepping up from a rayfoss whatever, to a true 1W 445 laser, those are completely different. It's like a .22 to a .50 cal.

If you shine that laser at a wall in a classroom 30 feet away from you, and everybody is standing with you at the opposite wall, just LOOKING at the dot will cause eye damage without safety glasses.

I am saying all of this because it's simple. and it is a FACT.
If you are inside a classroom, and you are the only one with safety goggles, and ANYBODY else looks at the laser, they WILL get eye damage. IT is simple

Yes, all four of us have protective glasses, fortunately the department supplies them. This is not a classroom environment, it is a lab environment with only four people involved. As I said before thank you for your input but it is completely unnecessary. Safety is always priority in the lab. Maybe your input would better be suited criticizing youtube videos of people actually being dangerous with lasers.

Yeah, well that's just plain nuts in my eyes,
1. What use do you need for a portable laser, instead of a labby.
2. IF the department ACTUALLY supplies you laser goggles, why wouldn't they supply the laser.
3. That teacher and school could be sued, for using a weapon in a classroom setting. That is just about the same as bringing a gun to your class and testing how well it penetrates metal or something.

Maybe you shouldn't be in college, with your vast knowledge of lasers, hard to see why you shouldn't be.(sarcasm)

Maybe you should tell them to wear ear protection and watch out for splinters when hurling 2x4s through brick walls.

Survival lasers are good, so as long as it is how it looks in the pics and the beams, looks right on point!
