Guys, a friend of mine saw the RGB cube I got from phoenix77 (thanks, man! and thanks to Drew for shipping it!) and he said he was interested in getting one if the price was right. Does anybody have one they don't use anymore?

Please let me know, thanks in advance.

Thanks man. I have seen that thread, but I don't think that cube is in a very good shape (yeah, I know it's cubic... it's just an expression :p).

How "good" of a friend is this? Might they have anything to trade?

I've known him for over 15 years, he's been my fellow student and business partner as well :)

I really don't know what he could have to trade, but what were you looking for?

I'm gonna ask him if he has anything he'd like to trade :)

I'll send one to you. If he comes up with something, cool. If not, I will live.

Is the address in the "swap box" thread still good?

Peace,
dave

I´m also interested in buying a RGB cube, can´t find a non expensive one on the web.
Edit: Or is there a similar alternative to combine two laser beams?

Almost every sled that we use have PBS cubes in them. They are small, but they are fine for experiments and learning. These RGB cubes are NOT the best choice for the type of beam combining you are talking about.

If you want larger, search eBay for "PBS cube" or "beam combiner" or something similar.

What about >>this<< one? Does it also have the ability to combine green and red?

At >5mm on a side, that was probably harvested from a sled. If you don't have any around, I have a couple of 6X sleds that you can have 2 for $7 shipped to you first class. Here is what all is in the 6X sled. The aiXiz lens is just there for perspective

The silver/gray rectangles are rare earth magnets

There is MUCH more to play with for $7 than that $20 auction. PM me for details.

Wow, dude, that's so awesome. Thank you very much :)! He'll be happy to hear this.

Don't worry, I bet he will find something you'll fancy... Or else I'll make him :p Maybe some rocks from Argentina? But what can we really add to your current collection?

Also, yes, the address is still good; however I'll PM you his address so I don't have to go to the customs office if it gets held by them.

EDIT: Any particular interest in what you'd like to receive?

He could send one of these

However, the shipping charges would probably be prohibitive on one of those.

Rocks are always in style with me ;)

Oh yeah, those are called "Globos" here (balloons). He said he could even send them without that annoying "Air" thing...

:eg:

I didn't now those things had air in them

All of the ones here in Southern California are filled with silicone :tinfoil:
