Hi guys. So I just bought one of Yobresal's 1.2W 445nm builds and need a pair of protective glasses asap. I will be looking for a cheap used pair if possible as I'm as broke college student but still I understand the importance of owning and using them. If you have a pair you're willing to sell, just let me know what you've got and how much. Thanks guys.

Thank you for the link, I'll definitely consider it. Still I'm gunna wait and see if anybody else here has any they dont need anymore. If somebody on LPF could use a few extra bucks maybe we could keep it in house, ya know. Again thanks for the heads up anyways.

We have the same goggles available for $17. See here. If you place your order via PM I will ship in the US for $3.

Good stuff. I'll be needing to scoop a pair once yobresal responds to his sales thread and I decide if I want one of his 1.2w 445nm builds or not.

The description says they're adequate for up to 1.1W, the yobresal build I just bought is 1.2W will these still be be sufficient? Also, I have recently moved from the address on my paypal account and now have a PO box. can you ship to it?

Get the Eagle Pair® OD4+ 190-540nm laser safety goggles, good for well beyond 1.2W.

Thanks, that was exactly what I was going to recommend. :)

And yes, we can ship to P.O. boxes.

Guys as previously stated I'm a broke college student. I'll trust your word as good but I need to know if the difference between glasses rated at 1.1W and the eagle pair rated a little higher is really worth 25 dollars more for that extra 100mw. Thanks for all the advice.

I only own the Eagle Pair and I know the cost seems a little steep, they really are amazing. They really do a great job of blocking the 445 wavelengths while maintaining "normal" visible light. These are the only ones I have ever owned, so I don't have a comparison.

From what I can tell from the pictures, the other glasses will do a good enough job of blocking blue, but they are also much darker and therefor I assume will block a lot more visible light. If it comes down to getting the cheaper glasses or none at all, by all means I say get the ones you can afford, but you will need to be even more careful using them with a laser over 1.1W.

Also keep in mind none of them will fully protect you from a direct beam shot (at least as I understand it) to the eye.

Thank you so much for the advice. I will find a way to cough up the extra money for the eagle pair, my eyesight is worth a couple weeks running short on cash. Thanks again!

I also recommend the eagle pair multi-wavelength found here: Multiple Wavelength
I have had several pairs of laser safety glasses, and the multi-wavelength eaglePair are the ones I use most. They are much better to protect you from a direct hit or reflection than the Radiant ones or Dragon Lasers ones.
They cover 200-540nm (405bluray, 445blue, and 532green) and 800-2000nm IR (useful to block the infrared found in most green lasers) to OD4+.
If (when) you decide to purchase another laser or two, you will be able to use these same glasses (unless it's a 660nm red laser). Paying a few extra bucks now will save you a lot later. :san:

Those are good goggles for the application and I am considering adding them to our inventory. However they have only 20% light transmission compared to the 50% transmission of the ones we currently sell.
