If you have your own host, buy the components yourself and put it together.

Re: WTB phr-803t with lava driver

its not too difficult to put the stuff together. all u need is a soldering iron and the parts.

you should build your own! it is much more rewarding to show off something that you made than something that you bought.

good luck

i'll do it for $60 shipped. i have a couple of the 803T drives and I'd have to take it apart and put it in a module.

you probably are going to want to use a meredith or a aixiz module, if you harvest a DX module from a cheap greeny you most likely wont be able to focus the beam...

I can also sell you a 803t in an aixiz module for $60 bucks shipped. If you are planning on working with a pen, you're most likely want to use a  Rkcstr driver http://rkcstr.googlepages.com/home

I could also sell you a 803t in an aixiz module, soldered up with a Rkcstr driver w/wires all ready for you to put them where you want to. Prob ask for like $80 shipped.

you've got options my friend... options...   ;)

i also sell these for $160 http://www.laserpointerforums.com/forums/YaBB.pl?num=1213821584

cool, got it. So are you interested in my offer then for the diode, module, and driver? you wont be finding it that easy to fit the lavadrive into a pen host (no offense to lavadrives.. i have 2) without some cutting, and trying to keep the leads from touching the body of the host...

also, clear glass lenses dont really exist right now for aixiz modules, unless you have some crazy chemical bath to remove the AR coating, or an expensive custom order. I have glass and plastic lenses for aixiz, both are AR coated for red. Your best bet is to probably just get a plastic lens, and then wait for the 405 AR coated lenses that are being looked into by forum members right now.

So you have the host. You have the lavadrive. You want someone to sell you a harvested diode pressed into an aixiz module. Then you will take the components and assemble them and place them into the host. Is that about right? It appears that the only thing you are avoiding is harvesting the diode and pressing it into a module. Those are probably two of the easiest parts of making a laser!

Would it be possible to sell the diode driver and module and two AAA sized 3.7 volt batteries. that would be abel to slide into my gutted dx housing for 80 dollars.

And you are totally right about the flexdrive in an LEDlight/pen host. It is NOT the first choice I would recommend for a beginner.

"First sand off half the soldering holes . . . . "

"Do you have any REALLY thin insulating material at the house?"

Dave is the man. Simple as that.

We may be able to work something like that out, yes. However there is more work involved. Have you made your own circuit for the on/off button or modified the current one that is in there to only deliver the current/voltage that is coming from the batteries? (thus allowing the Diode driver do all the work??)

also, do you have wires coming out of the host ready to be attached to the driver wires?
