Preferably USB.

If anyone has something they're not using, let me know.

If you can get a sensor I can give you code and schematics. Also, I have interesting news for you; I'll try to remember to PM you later on.

Oh, excited! Ok, maybe I'll keep holding out for your wonderful wares :)

I tried to. But I wasn't going to purchase it without seeing a photo of the sensor itself. Apparently whomever bought it wasn't as concerned with that.

I have a few ophir oem sensors that need to be recoated, the original coating is damaged. If you're interested shoot me a PM. I can recoat them with high temperature black paint if you want.

So what would one consider a good price for one of the heads anyway? I see them on eBay all the time but I'm just unsure if they are worth the risk when dealing with eBay.

After recoating they'd need recalibrating though.

You get what you pay for... Our budget LaserBee USB and
LaserBee A have a response time slightly faster (40-50seconds
@1000mW) than an Alpha (~60 seconds).

But the budget LPMs are not as fast as our higher end LaserBee IX
and LaserBee II models at 10-15 seconds @1000mW

Even the OPHIR heads we use in the Limited Edition 5W LaserBee
takes 4-5 seconds to get a stable reading at 1000mW.

These Thermal sensor need some time to transfer the Laser's
photonic power into heat that can then be measured...

We just bought a few more Ophir heads for our LPMs but the
price just keeps going up..

The NOS OPHIR heads on ebay are still a good deal at ~$200.00

Can you link me? "NOS Ophir" didn't do me any good as a search term.

The issue I've had in trying to decipher some of the eBay Ophir heads, is that I'm never really clear on:

- Maximum measurement
- Minimum measurement (or resolution
- Whether I'll need to calibrate the Heat+Meter combination on my end.

Calibration is something that I don't want to have to do, given that the "known" powers of all of my current lasers come from a USB LaserBee 2.5. IE, I wouldn't want to introduce error from my previous LPM (if any) into my future one.

I bought one of these heads
Ophir OEM Broadband Thermopile Laser Power Meter **NEW* | eBay

I also picked a LCD, two DC-DC converters and a 5V voltage regulator and here is what I have so far. Still need an enclosure and a 9V battery connector.

The whole unit runs off a single 9V battery or two 3.7V Li-Ions in series. Have not decided yet. May go with two 14500's for longer battery life. The unit draws 150mA.

Here is the LPM test from the Sirius to show the fast response time.

^ you know what quantity of current consumes the panel meter alone?

The sensor should only be consuming a few milliamps.

My fault, with "panel meter" I meant the red LCD voltmeter.

Edit: Thanks DTR and Trevor
