One dumm question...if FDA has already started to ban the imports of high-powered pointers, why the domestic companies (WickedLasers, etc) are still allowed to sell them online?

I think WL lies on their declaration form...

But FDA doesn't even need to look at WL's declaration forms, because WL's website, and many others, clearly show that they are selling the final products of high-powered laser pointers. I just think it's unfair for DX to loose much of its business this way... :)

You're right. It's $125 on their ebay store.

Re: WTB: DX 200mw.

WickedLasers uses their own e-commerce system and misrepresents the contents of the packages they ship to avoid both customs checks and customs charges. DealExtreme also misrepresents what they ship, but they use Paypal, who could stop providing their service if they broke the TOS, so they won't cross Paypal's new laser policy.

IDK, this debate has been going on for some time now. For good principals morality, and honor, I absolutely hate WL just from what I've learned on these forums although I've never done business personally. BUT, the flood of the extremely cheap high powered lasers available from DX poses a much greater threat to society then the more costly ones because the more money, the more responsibility. In other words, any dumb ass can buy a dx50mW for $23, but not anybody could/would spend ~$130 for the same power. But yes, it sucks for DX and for the responsible laser users living in the US who now have to find an "alternate" path...
