I have been out of the loop for a while now, but it is time to start off where I left, getting started on scanners!
I now have (2) 4-head RGYV animation scanners and need a controller, and some knowledge about them.(the manuals that came with them are worthless)
I will (as always) do as much reading as possible on these when I get some time. But that will be at least a week or two:undecided:
I need a cheap DMX controller. I know ILDA control is much better, but I want to start off simpler and cheaper.

Some advice? I found this one for $59.99 but it says not in stock until 8/30. Is it a decent one for the price?
Buy Chauvet Obey 10 DMX Lighting Controller | Lighting Controllers | Musician's Friend
One of my scanners is 7 channel and the other is 9 channel, both scan at 15Kbps and do (what I think) are very smooth animations using the built-in software.
Anybody have a controller to get rid of cheap? I don't think I need a very good one as I am only controlling 16 channels. I would like it to do as much as possible although.
Any advice or sellers would be appreciated. Thanks!

I do a lot of A/V stuff at my college, and the general consensus between me and some of the other guys who do this stuff with me, as well as several people in the industry is that Chauvet equipment is not that great. It caters to the DJ crowd who want to have something beyond a light ball, but is a far cry from professional level equipment. However, I think you might be able to get by with something like that, especially if all you need to do is control the channels individually (eg. channel 1 is red, 2 is blue, 4 is X scanner etc.). If you want to have effects that are built into the board, you might want to consider something else.
