Just as the title says, I would like to buy a Argon ML cylinder style ML laser, but just the laser, since I already have a power supply, if you have one for sale at a reasonable price, please send me a PM.

Thanks,

Norbyx.

Power supplies aren't just interchangeable and work for everything. Talk to Dave, he'll point you in the right direction.

I already did and dave was very nice to give me a neg. rep just for wanting to buy one of his lasers. So i doubt he would be of any help.

He needs a JDSU 2214 laser (or equivalent)

The neg was NOT for simply "wanting to buy" one of my lasers ;)

Peace,
dave

Oh yeah it was, I have all my private messages and as much as I read them I know that the neg. rep was just an abuse. If it wasn't me wanting to buy your laser could you please show everyone what was my fault, or problem, or question, and also your reactions?
But thanks for the info.

I think that your response herein is pretty indicative to what went on in PM's

People can see for themselves

You're welcome for the info

This is the behavior that I messaged you about. For being a "38 year old" you act childish and defensive when you don't get your way. I am obviously not the only one to notice.

I rather not fight and make this message my official apology to my rudeness, maybe it's due to the fact that I am an Italian and as such I have a temper.

-- Much context and previous PM's missing --

I am not going to fight with you in open forum
For that matter, I probably won't fight with you in PM's either

I suggest that you act the same

Peace,
dave

Ok I have an attitude than. Fine. Here are the PM sent by me in this case:
This PM was sent after I got no response and made him a resonable offer for his laser

"I don't know if you got offended or something but you could at least give me an answer. I offered you just $7 bellow your asking price, I'd say that is not such an offense, and answering to an offer is alwasy the most polite thing to do....
I have purchased like 14 lasers from forum members just in the last month, I don't think to be a scammer or a not serious buyer....

Norberto "

In response to this I got this message:

"It is also considered polite to wait while someone takes care of other things. I have not yet accused you of being anything other than someone interested in buying an argon laser from me

I have a life away from the forum
Sometimes "life" gets in the way
Remember, I told you this is NOT my job
It is a hobby
Many things take precedence over this

My wife came to spend the night
We had dinner
Then we watched a movie
I had classes this morning

This might also be a bit of a shock to you, but you are not the only person I am in communication with. In addition to all of my responsibilities in the forum, I have almost 200 student that were preparing for their final presentation
I wade through about 200 emails a day on top of PM's from here and Facebook

I am MUCH more bothered by your apparent belief that you should be the top priority in my life or that selling this laser is important to me than I am with your "counter offer"

I am just getting back through PM's and emails now. Did you even look at the PM in which you asked for a "receipt" upon my reading it before you decided to come at me again? If you do, you will notice that I just read through it a few minutes before I started typing this response to this subsequent PM

Your offer does NOT offend me. That is just business.
Your entitled attitude does bother me.
I am NOT a store owner that needs your business to keep my doors open.
I am a hobbyist that salvages, refurbishes, and tests these things to try to help other hobbyists.
If money was my motivation, I could make more money, much faster, using eBay and Craig's List

In short, sir, I need neither your money nor your attitude

Peace,
dave
"

Now who is being rude here???? I am? Just because I offered $7 less than the asking price? Or maybe because I didn't have the patience to wait for him to answer.?
If in this messages I am the rude one just because I declare that I am a good buyer and for letting him know that I am not a person that just sends messages to disturb a person and never buys anything, than I am making this my official appology.

It is considered extremely rude to pester someone with PM's just cause they haven't answered your original PM.

I also have noticed you seem to think you are a forum veteran already, you have a know it all attitude. But in reality all you have done is spend quite a bit of money on others handy-work. You've been here a month, stop trying to take a place as a leader, your still the new guy, regardless how much money you've spent.

I might not be a verteran in this forum you are correct. I have been in forums probably since before most of you used to have a computer. I have been in the net since 1995 when the only pages you could navigate were like 100 all around the world, and I have been in direct IP communication before the internet even existed.

So no I am not a veteran of this forum, but I know how a person should relate to another. PM's normally get an answer quite fast, and I wasn't pretending an answer I was just letting him know I am no spammer.
As for the ammount of money I spent in this forum, on others handy work, was because others needed to sell their items not because I obligated them to sell them to me.
Anyhow before you even posted I erased the PMs since it was out of place to put them public and I apologized....
What more can be done?

You're right, a super mod that has had a hand in helping this forum run for years, and is plenty busy and has already earned respect, should stop everything and help you. This forum runs on your happiness.

Even in this post your know it all attitude shines through. How long you have had the internet means nothing to anyone here.

Your time on LPF is the ONLY thing that influences how people think of you here.

Regardless of how or why you bought the items, the owning of them does not grant you knowledge.

PM's get answered when the person is available, not everyone can sit on here all day trying to up their post count.

I see no version of this situation where you were in the right, and I KNOW Dave would not -rep you and make these claims if they were not true, and I have seen other examples of your bad attitude myself.

Ive made purchases from a good portion of the vets here, and I have NEVER been treated with hostility, simply because I am polite, patient, and realize that I am on their time, not the other way around. Everything they do for us is a favor, even if you pay for it, treat it as such.

And your right nothing more can be done, so stop trying to make superiority claims about how long you had the internet.

Could you be any more condescending? how do you know how long the rest of us n00bs have been using the interweb?

Your "holier than thou" attitude will win you no friends here, and your drawing unwanted attention to yourself.

Two mods, a vet, and a long time member all agree that you have a bad attitude, and instead of evaluating your behavior, you shoot out neg reps, purely because we did it to you for your bad attitude.

This again shows you think you are right and could care less what long time members and the PEOPLE WHO RUN THIS PLACE have to say about how you are behaving.

Extremely childish.

Thanks for the neg rep, it sealed the deal on how I feel about you. Your just a guy who thinks he can buy his way into the community, and doesn't care what the status quo is.
