I will be selling IR diodes shortly - no drivers for them, though - what happened to the driver that is in the pointer ?

Just so you know, trying to fix a dead 5mW won't be worth it. You can buy green lasers for $15 these days, buying a new diode and trying to repair it will cost near the same.

the solder point on the chip broke off completely. as in no metal strip to solder to. So I dont know how to make solder stick to that point. Don't really care about it being a pen, I can use it in a stationary set up. and I can build a driver for it if i have to. at least i think i can.lol.
cant be too bad with all the info on it and I am also studying to be an electrical engineer so my friends would be able to help too.

It IS hard work, and can be expensive to repair a greenie like that, but personally - if you have the will, you can do it :) And it is extremely rewarding to revive something that should have been buried ! LOL Anyone see that old movie, Laser Cemetery ? I mean.....PET Cemetery....that's right :) It's tough, but if you get past the frustration factor, it can be loads of fun. Do not set your expectations too high - remember, these things are most likely made in mass by folks that do it all day long :p
