***EDIT*** OK so i caved, i'll even buy a wicked lasers "the torch" if anyone has one. I dont really wanna order from them as it sais 4-8 weeks!!!!

I would like to purchase a flashlight that is so powerful it will do all the things wickedlasers "the torch" will do, maybe even more.

Ready to pay immediately, hope someone here can help me out ^_^

The wicked torch only burns because its inefficient so it puts out a lot of heat. Burning flashlights are not common because...well they are useless.

If you want to burn something with light other than laser light you could pick up a phlatlight LED from someone here and build your own unit. But even ultra high power flashlights like the sst90 models etc wont burn stuff unless you put something very close to the LED for the radiant heat as far as I know.

Burning with a flashlight... sort of like using a rifle as a club.

Get a nice flashlight a blowtorch instead.

I actually ordered the Wicked Lasers flashlight as a gimick, something to laugh at and play around with. That was probably about 2 months ago and still no sign of it. Im thinking about trying to get my money back for it. Im unsure if theres any other flashlight as portable and powerful enough to start fires.

"The torch" seems like the best flashlight on the market to burn stuff, but its very unobtainable. Dont buy through WL just keep looking around for it on the net, hopefully you will be able to get one second hand off someone.

Good luck.

Depends on how you define "powerful". No other flashlight is as wasteful with energy outputing heat like an oven, but almost any HID will put out more light more efficiently.

If you want a light that is bright but uses outdated technology and doubles as a toaster oven the wicked lasers torch is for you. If you want a light that is actually designed to be used as a flashlight and illuminate things with not only more ligh but also with reasonable run times then the WL torch wont even be on the list.

The wicked lasers torch is 4100 lumens if im not mistaken, the nearest thing i have found to it is this floodlight.
BIOLEDEX® 50W LED Floodlight - 4000 Lumens such as 400W-500W Ou /

Im not saying the "torch" is a great investment and work of art at all but as far as having that power and being so compact i dont think theres anything else like the torch.

If they are overvolting the Halogen that lumen rating could be close (i kind of doubt it - remember the 750mW "1W arctics") but that means this bulb wont last very long.

I will concede to the brightness point assuming the rating is close. And I remember it being $300 not $150 so the price isnt that bad...

EDIT: according to this chart Halogens luminous efficiency is around 20 lumen/W so this light should be around 2000 Lumen unless they are WAY overvolting it and even then I find it hard to believe they found another 2000 lumen.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luminous_efficacy

Im just saying if you want to use it as a flashlight...pretty much anything else is more practical since you only get 15 minutes of run time.

You can get a TRUE 4000 lumen with 4 xm-l LEDs driven at a combined 40W which would be more than double efficiency and battery life. Or if you were ok with 15 minutes run time you could DIY flashlight with a 100W led array and get 6000-7000 lumen!

I like LEDs

I need it simply for the purpose of starting fires, and lighting cigs, and showing off.

I'm really in need of one, I know their dumb, but i have money, and i just want it lol.

But thanks for all the responses guys, but i really don't need this for lighting purposes, just for fun.

Prepared to pay, hell i'll even pay someone who finds one FOR me, cuz i've been lookin. no luck on CPF either D:

Ask jayrob about his Phlatlight Maglight

Heres a video of a phlatlight LED

and here jayrobs build thread. You could ask if he will build you one.

Helios is right when he says theyre not practical...i even heard the battery lasts 5 mins!

I know what you mean though, thats the reason i ordered one from WL. Someone here got one as well and he seemed pretty happy with it. He said it took 3 months to arrive, so if i was you i would just order one and wait, i was searching around for a long time before i gave up and ordered through WL. Its not too bad....after the first month you forget you even ordered one so the wait isnt that bad lol

I would also recommend Jayrobs' Phatlight mag... His builds/products are TOP NOTCH professional quality and you will definitely get your moneys worth. I doubt any reputable member on this forum who has dealt with Jay before would argue

Other then for your last point, matches work pretty well and are much cheaper. :D

I'm not one to talk though. Lasers aren't exactly the most useful thing on the planet either, at least for what most of them use them for.

I dont know you will have to ask him. The LEDs are capable of burning so I would assume his build may burn as well.
