I got this awesome deal on the laser head, but I have no idea if it's broken. All the power supplies for similar lasers I see are listed for like $60-300, and that would kinda make this awesome deal turn into an awesome hole in my wallet. I'm a little hesitant to make my own because I've never tried anything with AC before.
If no one has one for like <$40, do you think either of these would work?

I read on Sam's Laser FAQ that HeNe's aren't too picky about what supply they receive, but I hesitate because I'm really excited about this laser if it's alive

First example won't work second would probably too little output. You should be looking for something putting out 6.5mA. I'll look for some and PM you.

Hey, thanks! I'm so new to gas lasers. I might get that one you sent me. It looks pretty good.
If course, this buy thread is still valid until I close it

No problem. I'm still learner about gas lasers myself. Also to not be disappointed according to sams faq it looks like the head you got is rated for 2mw (if you didn't look it up already)

Meh, milliwatts; microwatts. Nanometers is what I'm after
