Well worse comes to worse, I'll have a 589nm crystal set to play with in the future. :p

Well on the good side.. I managed to fix the negative connection on the diode in a fashion I believe is robust enough to hold. On the bad side, the line optics on the diode got broken in the process.... And when I reassembled it.. sure enough.. No more 589... :( Sooo.. anybody know where to get glass strands about the size of a human hair? :p

Here is a photo of the different diodes. I forgot I was going to take some photos.

In this picture is:
  • 655/780nm "flat" 20X DVDRW diode in heat-sink
  • 650nm 5mW "chip" diode
  • 808nm 500mW 9mm open can
  • 655nm LCC (5.6mm)
  • 655nm LOC (5.6mm)
  • 405nm GGW-H20L 6X diode (5.6mm)
  • 655nm/780nm SmOC (3.6mm)
  • 808nm 500mW B-mount w/FAC
  • 808nm 2W C-mount w/FAC

Listed from picture top to bottom and left to right

I also have a macro of a B-mount in this thread:

Both your C and B mount diodes have the cylindrical lens that I broke on mine... I fixed the diode itself, I just have to figure out some replacement for that lens.

You'll have to find an FAC somewhere, and then secure it directly infront of the die with optical glue. Hope you have steady hands and a microscope, and best of luck.

The one I had wasn't glued to the die itself, just to either side on the casing, but yeah, fixing it is not going to be any fun whatsoever.. but yellow is worth it. :p

And for anyone who wants to know what the module out of a GLP-589 looks like without going through what I did.. here ya go. :p\

I need to find one module like this to change the diode with one of 808nm and make a 500mw 532nm green laser. these modules have nd:YVO4 KTP and expander lens?what do you say?

A b mount has a smaller hole and no chamfer for a screw like that one does. (at least in my experience.) That does look like a cut off C mount.

Now I have to get the nerve up to cut half of my 500mW 635 diode off to fit in an old CNI pen I have :D

Hi do you know where can i find these modules or who sell them to fit a 808nm diode 2W and than nd:YVO4,KTP crystals, expander lens, collimated lens to produce 532nm wavelenght.all these things are possible to fit in any module in the world?
Is this what i need?

I don't follow...

Any decent green module will have a 808 diode and the crystal pair. Cheaper modules use a bonded pair of crystals and no focusing lens after the diode. More expensive modules will use separate crystals, usually spaced apart from each other a little bit and corrective optics and focusing lenses for the pump diode.

So what I am saying is, all green modules have that stuff in them but some are easier to work with than others.

I do not know where to send you to get an empty module, I suggest you just buy a premade module as you will have a lot better results in the end.

premade is the first thing that comes to my mind
but i need one premade to fit c or b-mount diodes and i don't know where to find it do you know anything???

in your aixiz half copper module you made for c-mount if i put over yvo4+ktp from cheap green laser and expander lens, there is enough space to thread the collimated lens?

I mean a module already built, pump diode included. Building one yourself will be hard, see my post in your other thread.

My copper c-mount modules are not suitable for DPSS setups. It might be possible but not without a lot of custom work. If you have to ask questions like that I seriously doubt your ability to make a green module!
