WTB: 200mW-1W Portable Laser, Any Color, Around $100

Hey guys. First post. I'm just looking for a decent portable laser that has a visible beam and can burn. I am very interested in a blu-ray laser, but any color will do. I realize that green is much easier to see, but I like the way the beam on a blu-ray laser seems to be a solid object rather than a beam of light (since its light isn't as bright to our eyes). I am willing to spend around $100 give or take. Please send me an offer. Thanks a lot!

What do you mean that a blue ray laser beam seems more solid? Blue ray lasers are pretty hard to see. If you want a laser with a visible beam and can burn you should go with a 445nm.

I do realize that, but I like the effect of the beam on a blu-ray laser. It's hard to explain, but it's almost as if the beam is absorbing light rather than giving it off, and I guess this effect is because the middle of the beam isn't so bright that it's white, unlike greenies. Like I said, I don't mind a green one, but blues sort of stick out to me.

Do you mean how the beam and dot look blurry? And you should definitely go with a blue if you want more visibility and burning capabilities:) Might cost you a tad over $100

Not exactly. And I thought you said green was better in the visibility section?

Haha, wow. I feel like an idiot now. 445nm is blue, not green. But what is the wavelength difference between blue and blu-ray?

blu-ray is 405, blue is 445, green is 532.

Blu-ray 4O5nm is actualy purple and 445nm is an icy blue.
