I want a red around 150-200mW that'll burn and what not...I've seen many china websites advertising such specs and prices less then what I want to spend. I wanted to see if anyone has any lying around they don't want and would like to give up for cheap.

Preferably click on/off switch, not really looking for momentary.

Any offers within reason of $30, send it my way. Thanks..

OR.....if you know a source that I can get what I want.

Try Lazerer.com. You'll pay between $32 - $45 for a on spec 200mW red. They are a great company.

You can risk the cheap Chinese sites but only expect half the power that's advertised.

Lase, gotta question here for you.

I've been lurking here for around 2 months now, so please pardon the rather cutting intro here.

I'm looking for either a 75mw - 150mw green for night time sky pointing. Not quite sure what's the best site to order from.
-Optotronics seems.... okay. I've read from a few threads across the boards people have bought from them, and aren't getting screwed. I've heard plenty that their lasers are putting out more than they list. That and the price is quite enticing.
-The Lazerer site you listed has even more competitive pricing than they do, but if the reliability is in any more question compared to Optotronics, I'd more than willing to drop some more money.

Also, what's the best place to order eye-wear? (for you know... if I happen to... 'enjoy' messing with it inside. :p)

Hey Foodman (lol),

I have found that as Lazerer is a newer company, they seem to have listened to the LPF community and offer a power certificate with their products. This means they will be LPM'd before sent out and will arrive on/over-spec in most cases (there is always a margin of error).

As for goggles, I have seen a lot of people recommend DragonLasers as the better of the low-price market for Laser Safety. Personally I don't know. I haven't bought any safety goggles from them. Link

I personally had 3 underpec lasers from o-like. Including one that was obviously underpowered the first time I turned it on, and it stopped working after maybe 5 minutes total use.

Rayfoss has also sold quite a few underpec greenies in recent months.

Until these companies start measuring the lasers they send out, as far as I'm concerned they are only third tier;

Tier 1: Jetlasers, Opto, LG, Survival Laser, CNI, Viasho, etc...
Tier 2: Lazerer - Tests for a fee.
Tier 3: O-like, Rayfoss - refuse to test... even when offered money for it.
Tier 4: Dragon Lasers
Tier 5: All other chinese crap sites.

They used to be good, maybe they've let their QC slip :(

I suspect they started counting on the fact that most people don't have LPMs... and won't get LPMs.

Also the fact that most people don't want to spend more money to send a laser back and wait another two months to get an up to spec laser second time around... hopefully.

Chinese mentality does not seem to revolve around repeat business.
