Hello!

Is there any person on this site who is selling a 2.5W+ laser? I need it badly for an experiment for my website.. :undecided:

Thanks!

Yes there available.. you dont want to build??? I am playing with my 3rd 9mm 445 and it is hitting the 2.8W range (no extra cooling!!! refigerator nothing...I have found I have indeed screwed up some optics that way..)

This was one that I found from dtr..

This is running at 3.48W but I cannot duplicate it... killed it at about 3150ma the next day..

You haven't specified the wavelength. For this power, you probably find only 445nm.

actually probably more like 460.. but I cant test the wavelengh only a few people have that much cash!!! I can go by the spec sheet or you could listen to what RHD will tell you about it.. even my singlemode 450 is not actually 450nm.. I dont know what to say if your experiment relied on exactly 450nm lasers but it sounds expensive

445 is the only diode i KNOW OF that will get you over 2W I think the only one would be the 9mm if you need 2.5W the drivers make it out of reach.

^ Yes, and the IR lasers. They´re available in much higher power. But guess our guy here is also looking for good visibility.

you dont want an IR laser.. Fell the FORCE LUKE!

IR lasers are for fools.. Yes Father...

why would you want an IR laser for? grab a a140 445 or something..

IR lasers will blind you witout you even knowing it

even go 405 phr series over a IR

Too many nice lasers with too many ......

If you're using it for an experiment, you would be MUCH better off with a lab laser. It would be much more stable and easy to work with.

Good suggestion but what would a 2.5W Lab laser set ya back?

If $$$ is no problem then go for the lab

Or you could build one for about 200$ give or take..

The cost would depends vastly on the wavelength. If you want a 2.5W 445nm lab laser you'll be looking at a 2-4 diode build, since lab lasers aren't commonly over driven.

If you want an IR one, that would be a lot less as one c-mount diode can easily put out over 5W.

ARG take it away I think I need to hear all this too.. Only way I could learn is more reading or listening to people like you.. +1

I didnt realise that they would be multi diode lasers in the lab.. but that makes sense.. I guess that way you could even get a green or yellow at 2.5W but it would cost you an arm and a leg too.. the 445 9mm can hit that 2.5W and be a very visible beam for a fraction of the cost of a lab I bet.

Thanks :)

If all OP wants is the power, than a handheld would probably be best. Lab lasers are made with stability and small beam size in mind, so it will cost a lot more than a handheld.

The cheapest option for OP would probably be a DIY CPU heatsink lab laser with a single 9mm diode.

Ah okay :) Glad to know he got something worked out.
