Hey guys, I'm new here. you all look like a bunch of really fun people and this looks like a very friendly forum.

First, I want to know who I need to talk to, to buy or have built a 2W or higher hand held Laser. I would like it to be Green (or true Green) but I hear thats hard to do and WL is the only one that can?? not sure.

Blue at 2W is ok. I have money, I want something awesome, but I also know that $500+ is over priced.

But I'm curious, why are most people on here so against Wicked Lasers.com?

What do I not know about them? I really want the Krypton 1W Green Laser from them but $999 is a little silly. And I will not be buying that from them.
But I also want to know why the real laser people that are on this forum are against them. :) I'd like to learn.

Is there anyone that can help me as I'm really in the mood to buy. :)

2000mW (2W) or higher, Green Laser, or Blue if Green at 2W is not possible.
or.... Green at 1W-1.8W?? is that possible.

Thanks Guys!
Cheers,
-Spaz

Hi there Spaz, let me start by saying welcome to the forum, we are very fun if you like lasers.

To my knowledge there is no such thing as a 2W visible handheld. To get 2W in handheld you've gotta go waaay up into the IR spectrum, and you can't see the beam on those, or the dot either really on most of them.. So no fun. IR sucks, that's why the good lasers have IR filters ;)

The closest thing to what you're asking for is a 1W handheld, available in 445nm (blue like wicked's Arctic) and 532nm (green, like green laser green), the 445nm blue will fit your budget as blue light is simpler to create (coming directly from a blue diode) therefore much cheaper. Green 1W handhelds are rare, expensive (first car expensive), but have much better beam quality and visibility, due to 532nm light being created in a more precise DPSS module, rather than direct diode.

Wicked Lasers is hated around here. Not by me personally because I feel they made it right between us, but some members here were either blown off by shoddy customer service and have a sore spot, or they recieved a bad laser, then were blown off. So lots of sore places with Wicked around here. Then you have your pro trolls that go around bashing on WL just because their other friends from the Internet had a bad time with them... But what would a forum be without pro trolls here and there?

Again, welcome, and enjoy your time here.

Well there is a member on this forum "Lasereer" that says he has a 2050mW (2W) laser in blue. He has videos on line, but most of the videos use lots of fog so the beam seems "unnaturally" bright indoors with lights on or off.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2YXaW7xydDg&feature=youtube_gdata_player

He says he sells them.
But if you say there is no such thing as a 2W blue laser, do you think lasereer is lying?

I guess I just want to find a high powered 1000mW green laser that is cheaper than the Wicked laser krypton at $999

Maybe I am mistaken, but I swore these 445 diodes were pushing it at 1W. Can anyone more firmilar with the subject of the 2W blue fill me (us) in? Also, the green laser is not gonna happen, you will not find one under the price of WL's krypton. $999 is a breakthrough price for 1W of green, but it is doubted that the Krypton is actually 1W, and I'm really quite sure there's no handheld 2W 532nm greens out there at all.

The highest powered green I know of that's available from a reputable seller is the Hercules from Laserglow.com. It's highest power is 750mW, not even one full Watt, with a price tag of about $5,000...

Your a funny guy.

Im Lieing.? Why because you dint like my price of $400-$500.?

You dint want to spend more then $300 Max.

Go ask someone to build you a 2W laser for less with what else i offered and see what they say. Not to mention the Hosts i showed you range from $40-$70 and i offer a 1 year warranty.

Do yours research guy. Before you come on here thinking stuff.

Look at my Rep and all my previous threads and sales on this forum. Not 1 un happy buyer. You can see i have many 2W laser not to mention ones that i have not posted about.

I OWN 2 LASER POWER METERS. That when you buy a laser from me i show you the reading per duty cycle. If you had looked more on my youtube page you woulds have seen in the last 10 videos i posted for example lot of them where laser i build and re LPM'ing them for the Buyer.

Research anf Get it Stright.!!!!

Also that video you linked i have an Old LPM video of that laser:

and another 2W for the heck of it:

And the last one i sold just for Fun:

Oh I forgot PM InfinitusEquitas ask him how his 2W is doing well I mean 2.2W is doing. He can show you Laser power meter test results on his own meter if you like.

All I got to say is dont assume anything.

@Woodofcville:

Where have you been at.? We have been build 2W+ Builds for ~1 a year now.

Spaz, you started off by saying it looks like a friendly group here, then in your second post ever, you ask if an expert laser builder here is a liar? Oh Brother....
Anyway, Iv'e spent hours reading all the info here and you should too before you buy a big bad ass laser.
Some here will lecture you first before selling anything because you could accidentally blind someone or yourself. Its like never shooting a gun in your life and walking into the gun store and demanding the 50 cal. Read up on the dangers and go from there. Its interesting.
Tip- green doesn't get compared to blue as equals on a milliwatt scale. My 200 greenie might look just as bright or brighter and hit farther than a 1 watt blue. Different technology.
I'd look at O-like lasers for the most bang for your buck with your budget.

There are LOTS of 2W+ 445nm Laser on this forum. Before calling someone a liar do your research next time.

Also what exactly does smoke or fog have to do with LPM readings? I'll save you the time researching - NOTHING.

This LPM reading is actually from one of my lasers, made by Lazeerer:

2WLPMChart.jpg

Btw, the laser is actually 2.3W on fresh fully charged, best available batteries.

You are mistaken. On one count definitely on another count, it's a question of what to consider reputable.

The k@se0 @140 diodes have been pushed to well past 2W. They range in efficiency quite a bit though, so while some will output 2W+ at 1.8A, others will not, and obviously running them at that level will reduce the lifetime of the diode.

That isn't too much of a factor though, considering that most of is never run any diodes for longer than 1-2 minutes at a time, and rarely repeat the process continuously, with the result being that even if the lifetime of the laser is reduced from thousands of hours to just a hundred, the laser is still one that will last a very long time.

As for the 1W green lasers, rayfoss actually does have a model that's rated a 1W. The problem is no one has gotten one yet because of the high price point.

Woah. Yeah this got me wondering last night, so I went and started watching Lazerrer's videos, and a few others. I was thinking they had some combining optics and multiple diodes to get 2W, but now I see, those 445 diodes are just tough little sunabitchez.

Not likely. Also, many have yet to see a LPM video of a Krypton actually doing 1 Watt. I should be metering a replacement one (for a 720mW underspec and mode-hopping unit [video links]) this weekend. :D

Guys, if you read my post I did not call anyone a Liar.
I simply asked Woodcofville if he says a 2W is not possible or unheard of, why would lasereer be selling them? This is a simple question from someone who obviously is new to lasers. Jumping on here and bashing me for not researching before I responded to a post and asked a question is kind of silly.

And to Lasereer, emailing me at my personal email and cursing at me for "talking shit" is uncalled for.
Again I did not call anyone a liar. I asked a question.

Woodofcville said 2W was not possible. I figured he was a master builder as well. So I was confused.

And getting mad at me for noticing a lot of fog is petty as well. Again I'm new. I'm attracted to the brighter beam. If a beam seems somehow enhanced by fog, as a new buyer I'm allowed to be curious.

Watch what you say dude if you dont know what you are talking about. Get it stright. Iam not some Punk 16 year kid living in his Mommys house build lasers.

Iam Highly respected on that forum. I advise you correct what you had said in that thread.!!!!

Have a Good Day

Where am i cursing. I even told you to have a good day.:undecided:
