Good day. 1st time buyer looking for a 300mW or larger green laser, bat included. (Why do some not want to send battery?) Also need glasses if you have them. LPM verified if possible, maybe use 3rd party Vet to test. I am in Armstrong, BC Canada.

Please include explanations for things like "flashlight, TEM00-30, mode-hoping" etc, or other jargon, because I really want to learn. (Wading through other posts is a hard way to find simple explanations.)

If no one can be persuaded to part with their own, I am grateful for your recommendation on sub-$500 retailer...cannot afford the CNI / RLP's. My reading as well as "the guide" ALL suggest caution and "may get an underspec" with cheaper guys, but rayfoss (selling Jetlasers?) seems to at least have both pos and neg comments. It appears they have a 400mW green for $325. Seems great, is it?

Using for astronomy shows, but please see "Bear Repeller-Rescue Beacon" post in General Forum.
Thank You

Now thats a 1st time post if I ever seen one.

If your only going to use it to star point then you don't have to have 300 mW IMO. There a 300$ 300mW green post in this BST section. you need to just do some looking honestly

EDIT: 300 mW green.... http://laserpointerforums.com/f39/lasers-sale-58988.html... #3 is a JETLASERS, 532nm, 300+mW laser in a flashlight host. It's focusable & is FDA compliant with all 5 safety features functioning properly. I'm asking ~ $300.00 for it. "I think it's still available"

Thank me later Phoenix

I agree with Krogith, you'll most likely ruin your night vision at that power.
Try a 100-150mW instead. Outside at night you won't believe how bright it is.

Optotronics Green Pen Pointers

Also, they don't like to ship with batteries becasue there's a customs issue.

don't worry, if you use the search button and/or google properly, you'll find all the answers (and much more!;)) also, check out all the stickies around here, they're VERY useful

o-like.com sells some 400mW green for $200, there were some positive reviews about it. but you don't need so much power, >200mW of green should be more than enough for astronomy
